Muley or whitetail or Cross

fldrw22 asked me to post these pictures for him and I will let him ask what he wants to know about the rack. Is it a Mule Deer or whitetail rack OR a cross between them I think is what he said.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-15-11 AT 12:57PM (MST)[p]One of my Clients was going to throw this rack away .she said her husband shot the deer in 1959 in North East ,Colorado .To me the left side looks like a muley and the right a whitey.Then the crazy bases and long eye guards.What is it??
The pics dont really do the rack justice ,Its 29" wide x 24"Tall ,the eye guards are both just over 12"from the bases

I would bet just a cool muley rack. Whitetail don't usually get that wide or tall. A mix would be pretty crazy, but a lion and tiger can mix so who knows.

your left or the deers???...because it looks exactly the opposite to me....

Looks like a whitetail, although you have to go to Canada to find whitetail horns so dark.

Like to know where Wack-em got his fact, never heard that before and have seen crossbreed fawns trailing mule does, I would have to think that it was wrong.

Looks like a Whitetail to me....and had been hanging in a smoke-filled bar room for some time because of the stain....white-tail bucks will breed Mule deer does and they don't always abort..Know of 2 different bucks killed around here that are cross-bred..I'll get a pic for you sometime..

Muley.
Whitey bucks can breed muley does, and I'm not sure if muley bucks can breed whitey does, they just don't. No muley is aggressive enough to tend a whitetail harem. Prove your fact Whack. I had a young DOW agent tell me what you did. He probably read the same study. I am no expert, but living and guiding in Eastern Colorado, I tend to believe what I see. Not what some dude agent learned in school. No disrespect intended, I just don't agree with you.

I scored it this morning using B&C Clubs online score sheet .I used the Non -Typical Whitetail sheet .I scored the back point on "THE DEERS RIGHT ANTLER" as an extra point .It scored ???????Any guesses.
