Any eastern Wyoming Pictures ?

LAST EDITED ON Jan-18-11 AT 08:15PM (MST)[p]Hope you have a good ranch to hunt on because we hunted public land in the northern half of B last October and it was terrible. I only saw 7 deer and wouldn't go back there if they gave me a free license!!! I'm going back over on the west side of the Big Horns where I have hunted most every year since 1994 until trying B last Fall. It sucked and even the Game Warden and one biologist couldn't point us in a decent direction!

I have a friend that hunted public land in B last fall and him and his son each took nice 4x4 muleys in 4 days of hunting. They saw 20-25 deer per day and saw a couple of bucks bigger than the ones they shot, but could not close the distance. They are headed back to the same area again this year .
Myself have never saw a good buck in that unit even on private land.Lots of decent antelope though.
talked to a gamewarden yesterday and he agreed with the area I plan on hunting,he said the bucks are there but you have to get a couple miles away from the roads to find them.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-19-11 AT 08:06AM (MST)[p]I don't even get serious about hunting until I walk in a mile or two off any road and that's why I've had good success over where I usually hunt. A friend drew an antelope tag for 27 with his PPs and I went along to help and see if I could tag a decent deer. I saw plenty of antelope over in B and several were B&C type, but I had just put a good one on the wall in 2009 (see photo)and only bought a leftover deer tag. Anyway, there are probably pockets of deer up in the northern half, but even a couple ranchers that said we could hunt their land said it would be a waste of time because the deer were few and far between. The G&F people did say if we went down toward Lusk we might have some luck, but I decided to go back over the Big Horns and help another friend on his elk hunt and we ended up getting a great 357" bull, so the trip out there wasn't a complete loss. Good luck where you're going in B, as it has to be better than where I was!!! PS: I'm looking for a good mulie to better the best one that I have (160")and that's why I was really down on Region B. Incidentally, that 19" wide rack behind the head of the pronghorn is the only nontypical whitetail I've ever seen and shot. A lot of people think he's a dinky mulie until I tell them I don't shoot small bucks!!!
