Hey Everyone...a friend and I are looking to packback in for muleys in the fall. We each have 4 preference points. Being from WI, it is really hard for us to do alot of preseason scouting. Any ideas on areas we should check out. We are willing to backpack in as far as necessary to get away from most of the others. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Id try the wasatch front. It has great deer and its real pretty country. If your backpackin in for awhile its going to be a heck of a hick but its worth it. Give it a try its fun up there your always on good bucks.

Just realize, you're not going to be backpacking in, you're going to be backpacking UP!!!!

Thanks guys...I really appreciate it...Already starting a workout program to get use to going UP!!! :)

I'm not quite sure of the Altitude you are training in or live in WI, but these Wasatch Mtns. are 9000'-11,000' (+) to their tops. You may wanna try training at the highest altitude you can near you and when you get here, have a few extra days to get acclimated and also bring some Altitude Sickness pills otherwise all of your hard training and being packed in a few miles is going to be miserable.

Oh yeah...and bring extra batteries for your Camera and GPS because you are going to be snapping lots of photos of some beautiful country, but you are not going to want to be on the news for getting lost. ;)

?-ERock-> ?

ERock..thanks for the tips and great idea about the altitude pills...never thought about it, but great to have just in case. Extra batteries are a definite must!!! Thanks again...really appreciate it.
