i was just on the shed section and was looking at the buck of justice (what an amazing animal a true giant) and they were talking about th 50 mile area of utah i was just wondering what part of utah are they talking about and how remote is the area sounds like an area that would be intresting to see?

There are not many areas more remote than 50-mile in Utah. Rugged, nasty country, just what big bucks like!

Its by powell. I was talking to a guy that guides sheep there and he said he will see one buck there a month and it always a big one. But that's just what I've heard. Have you seen the hotel sierra?

how far north of lake powell can anyone give a little more detail on it like where to find it on a map

It's the closest mountain to Powell. Check out the Google map. Can't miss it. Big long sucker just NE of the main section of the Lake.

Haha, good one D13er.

A few years ago my nieghbor who likes to hike was in the area on business and decided to hike out 10 miles to a predetermined spot. On the way back he found this shed and decided to take a picture for me. I'm still cussing him for not bringing it home.

its not worth your time to go out thier its a 2 to 3 hour drive from escalante and the road is very rugged and thier isnt that many deer your better of going to the strip i use to hunt thier and we only killed 1 deer in 7 years of hunting thier

LAST EDITED ON Feb-13-11 AT 08:35PM (MST)[p]was it a big buck you killed thier?

LAST EDITED ON Feb-24-11 AT 03:13PM (MST)[p]The correct meaning of this term is. As you leave the town of Escalante, Utah. going east a mile out of town is a dirt road that turns right and head south 50 miles to a place called the "hole in the rock" this road paralles a mountain range called the 50 mile mountain. A very difficult place to find a deer unless you are an expert in tracking deer.

thanks to all for all the info i just thought that when my wife pisses me off i would go for a long weekend drive which could be anyday with that psycho i just like to see new places

I could never put up with a pyscho women just for the money, even if she's hot.

Well she's not that hot and she does ##### a lot but I must say without her I wouldn't be able to do half the stuff I do. For example I got a new atv a newer truck a trip to canada and a mom who cares about my kids. I guess you could say priceless I will just say thanks wife

Back when you could buy your tags at the sporting good store, we met some guys who use to hunt with a house boat on Lake Powell, their group was like 4 or 6 guys and they rented the boat pretty cheap, they had a small fishing boat that they used to go a shore and shoot deer when they found one.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

i plan on making a trip there in the near future just to look around and explore a little bit i like these kind of places keeps the crowds away if i find anything i will post it up

We took Kayaks down the escalante river this last summer, and we found this shed on the river bank. We saw a few deer, but nothing packing anything like this.

i think he says which tag he had when he was on mossbacks video i will look but i thought he said a virgin river tag which is not even close to fifty mile im still planning a trip down there im thinking early next month. is it easy to spot sheep in this area? i would love to see some

>I don't think the real justice
>buck came form that area...
>

Then where do you think it came from?

The buck of justice came from near the 50 mile mtn, but not from the 50 mile mtn itself. There are only a handful of people that know where he was taken from exactly and it would have been a sheep hunter that found him if you follow my drift. The Escalante tag would be right.
