Eastman's high country mule deer book?

I have read the book myself, I have a signed copy of it from Mike. The book itself has some great information on high altitude and backcountry Mulies. With that being said i will also give you my opinion of the mind frame of the Eastmans boys. They will write in every article or journal entry that MT has no big mule deer and our deer genes are just not managed right, yet when it comes time to give our their yearly hunt where do they go? MT to hunt our mule deer in the rut. Years ago i drove over 4 hours to see his mule deer tour and when tryng to shake his hand Mike acted as if he was too busy. personally i should just give you my book. Basically they are full of it and it stinks! Find the horn Goose!

I loved it. Great info, state by state data will get outdated (trophy areas) but that is common sense. I liked his elk book too.

I'd agree with the above post. Good info....nothing ground breaking but, it's a nice read for any avid muley nut. As was also stated, it and David Long's book, have too much filler with state by state info that will only be valid for X amount of years. Both worth reading though.

The more I read and watch David Long on the Eastman show and in the DVDs, especially with the big high country mulies he's taking with a bow since he went that route several years ago, the more I admire him and think he is the Guru of mule deer hunters right now. The guy just flat knows how to find and hunt them and I thought he was good when he was shooting them at distance with his rifle. Now watching him do the same thing routinely with his bow on public land is impressive IMHO!!! I have his book and the DVD that goes with it, as well as his 3 DVD series on Magnum Mulies. If you guys that are into big bucks on this website haven't seen his DVDs, I would highly recommend them because they are a ton of eyepoppers on them.

I've got the book and David Long's, too. From reading them, I'm convinced both authors know what they are doing and "have done it". My biggest complaint is that THEY wrote the books before I did....of course, I never thought of it.

The books are fun and accurate. If you've hunted for long (40+ years for me), there is little there you don't already know. They're still fun to read.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

Wow gb honkin on your horn a little?

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

I read it. I liked it a lot, expect I'm more of a bow hunter and there was only a really short section about hunting deer during archery seasons, and it was mainly talking about scouting for the rifle hunts. So if I was rifle hunting, I might have liked it more. But for bowhunting, I would rather read Cameron Hanes book...

I hava one of the originals signed by Mike and one of David Longs book too.

Very informative and great idea type stuff in them both......for many-many years.
