2010 buck work in progress

My taxidermist called last week to let me know my form came in and to come see what I thought of the pose. I chose a new mckenzie "swoop" form which shows some neck turn and accentuates some of the shoulder muscles. It's a lot like the wall pedistal poses, though not as drastic, except the back sits flat on the wall and doesn't have a huge chunk cut out of the back of the form. I really like the pose! He has some "movement" to him and is still looking out into the room with just enough head turn to accentuate his stronger side. The taxi also said he had to get the largest form to fit the cape. He said the neck was in the 21-23" inch range which was, in his opinion, pretty stout for a summer buck. I wish so bad I would have had him (tooth) aged. I'm thinking he was an old fart on his way down??? Seeing my buck again last week really has me excited for him to be done. What do you think?....

Yeah that studio is top notch! Even better than a storage shed...the in-laws garage. I don't care. The guy can flat out taxi! Thanks for noticing.

He still looks as good as he did the day you dropped him. Way to go Nate. The mount looks great. I'm excited to see what is looks like completed. The "Snorkel" buck mount is almost finished up too. I will post a few pics when they get it done.

Also, what did he officially score out after the drying period??? It doesn't look like he shrunk too much.

Hey Brad how has the wolf pack been? Be sure & post up some pics of your g-pa's snorkle buck. He also was a pig with some cool character. I would love to see him! I haven't had my buck officially scored yet. Tony & I taped him at 182 & change on the mountain. His bases were over 7 inches. So did any of you guys put in for a bear tag down there?? I sure hope Tony or Riley draws! Let me know because all I need is a reason to get on that mountain...especially in the spring.

The Wolf pack are doing good. I put in for a Tag down there but odds with only 2 points aren't that great. Maybe the Draw Gods will be nice and I get the tag (fingers crossed). I will get some pics of my Gpa's buck posted when it is done.

Just got a text from the taxi. TANK is done. He turned out SO b!tchin!!! My dilemma; go get my buck, or buy food for my fam for the next month??....hope they can live on mac-n-cheese & ramen for awhile! Massey, he set the ears slightly back to accentuate his width. If I can go pick him up in the next day or two, I'll post him up at his final (comfortable) resting place on my wall.
