Texas Muley Hunting

We're looking for some info on a few good places to hunt muleys in Texas.

Maybe a combo hunt with some hogs, Barbary sheep, or other exotics. Would like to put something together for the end of 2011 or start of 2012.

Thanks for any ideas.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-07-11 AT 09:30PM (MST)[p]look for someone in Gaines co. and those counties north of there. The key is be close to the NM border, PVT land/farmland and sandhills. They kill some whoppers out that way every year. If I was to spend the money or choose anywhere in TX to hunt for a big muley it would be from Muleshoe area south to Seminole and around that area. That should help narrow your search. I have a good friend who may be able to give some names if interested?? He grew up over there and knows the country and counties pretty well.

The Far west Texas/Mexico border does have some good deer, but the crop land associated with that area I posted above helps to grow some giants. Alfalfa feeds, peanut fields surrounded by "sagey"/"chinnery" type country is pretty hard to beat. Hope you get one booked keep us posted!!

Also the Palo Duro Canyon area of Texas S.E of Amarillo. I have seen pictures of some big bucks killed on private around that area too. These are all areas of interest for you you to look into. Good luck!

Tried to post more than one picture at a time with no luck.
Will post a couple more photos.

All these deer harvested off same ranch. Have several more that are as good as the pictures posted. Texas has been producing very nice muleys for years, but better mngmt practices are really paying off. Just thought I share some pics. As far as outfitters, could not help you in that department. Have heard of several that are great, but have never had any personal dealings with them.

I have been looking to book a Mule deer hunt in Texas for the past few months, but ended up booking one in New Mexico.Havent talked to anyone, but as far as website pictures and prices go, I would check out the Longfellow Ranch.
