Poacher sentenced to death
LAST EDITED ON Mar-12-11 AT 11:35AM (MST)[p]
I knew that would grab your attention! So, I watched two yotes chasing this doe she went just over the hill out of my site.. I figured they killed her so I took my little bloodtracking dog and tracked her down first thing the next morning. Easy track & she did not go far! Man, they sure made short work of her overnight!! Anyway, I wanted revenge so I grabbed the fox pro, CA 7MM STW and headed back to the kill site that afternoon. When I arrived, I found fresh tracks and knew they were just a few min. ahead of me, so I eased over the ridge and quickly spotted one of the poachers only 255 yards away on a fast walk. I quickly grabbed the fox pro, let out a yote locator call and the yote stopped just to look back, then he picked up the pace. Crap! I thought this coyote has been called before so I picked the spot where it looked like he was heading and set up. When he arrived in the opening I changed to a fawn distress and that got him to stop long enough to allow for a quick 552yd shot. Bang! The muzzle jump from the shot bounced him out of my field of view, but the classical thud was all I needed to hear. I knew I nailed him! I grabbed my binos again and sure enough, there he was dead on the snow! Man it sure felt good to take him out knowing he was a deer killer!!
