I might get sh*t for asking but what do you guys think I should set my hopes for, given the chance I get my 70 third season Colo tag this year?? I've been told it has some great potential however it has been pushed fairly hard by the Fool and other places.

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

Ya You're going to get sshit for asking!

Haven't You already done enough damage to the Mule Deer Herd?:D

Had a couple Friends that hunted it on the 3rd season last Fall, they were not to impressed!

I also heard some other guys that claimed they took a couple decent Bucks on the 2nd season last Fall!

I was there the year before last on the 3rd season, lots of Deer, seen alot of Bucks that were not very wide but had good Height, seen several decent Bucks that all looked like Brothers!

My Friend took a Decent Buck that year, again, just about as tall as he was wide!

Check your PM once in a while will ya?

For GAWDS Sakes Guys,We Got Kids on this Site,Some of them are 65 years Old!:D

I don't care if they're big or small!
If they throw lead I like em all!
:p

I hunted archery 70 last year. It was tough. The deer were all on private property around Lone Cone.

It is easy to see how there could be monsters in there with all the 12,000+ peaks. Hopefully they will come down for you by 3rd season.

Good luck.

Better pray and hope for a lot of SNOW to get them down lower and out of private.

This area could produce, but as was said, there are a lot of variables to success. If the weather comes, hunt the tar out of the western portion. If is hasn't, study the map and maybe even secure access to private in the transitional zones around 8,000-10,000 ft.

My wife had a tag for 3rd season last year and every good buck we saw was running. Get good at making quick shots. The weather will definitely make the difference. There are a ton of roads and just about as many hunters during the 3rd season so they get pushed a lot. Now 4th season, that is a different story.
