Yeah Diamond, the books has taken a dump over the last couple years so we switched over this year.
we will see if it pays off.
Also I have a few points for elk so not all 14 years have been for deer, but hell I know lots of people that didnt have to wait till they had max points to draw. LOL
We drew with 9 points.

I wouldn't worry about the Books Trix- I love it out there... You'll look over 100 bucks in 2 days. You'll see 3 or 4 that are 160"-170" class, and with a little hard work, and some luck, you'll find a 180" buck out there... I was hopin to have a hit on my card for rifle this year, but with 7 points- it just hasn't happened. I'm jealous you drew...

Congrats on the tag Jake- Havin the family out there will make it extra fun. I have heard there are good deer out there... Is it a lot of private ground..?? I've heard that too...

Yeah, there is a ton of private, but with a good map, and aot of time to scout it shouldnt be hard to find all the good public area, We might even be able to get access to some private as well. I am pumped.
Trix, what can I say, im not gonna lie to ya the books isnt what it was even 3 years ago, you will see a ton of bucks, but between the poachers, preditors, and the 500+ tags given out there every year the top end has went way down. There is still some hogs im sure but fewer and farther between than they used to be.

Congrats on the tag. You're luck sounds a lot like mine, can't draw unless you have max points. My brother-in-law drew a BC rifle tag with 8 points this year. This is his first LE hunt. Hell, he hadn't even hunted big game until he married my sister. I have never spent time in the BC, if you don't mind shooting me a PM on where to start him scouting, I would appreciate it. He is the luckiest SOB I know. He shot a 4 pt. his first rifle hunt and a few years later when I convinced him to try a bow, he shot another nice 4 pt. Good luck on your hunt!
