LAST EDITED ON May-30-11 AT 03:05PM (MST)[p]I got him in the southern region. I spotted him at sun up feeding on the opposite side of the canyon so I just sat down and watched and waited for him to bed down for the day before i made my move. He finally bedded around 9:30 in some aspens about 100 yards below the top of the ridge. It was a super windy day so I figured if I came in from above he might not catch my movement. Three hours later I was 40 yards from him and he had no idea I was there but I had no shot due to him being bedded in some tall brush, all I could see was his velvet rack above the brush so I sat there praying the wind wouldn't change direction. At about 1pm he finally stood up and start to slowly feed towards me. As his head went behind an aspen I drew back, waited for his chest to clear the tree, put my 30 yard pin just behind the front shoulder, released my arrow and watched it hit him in the broiler room! He ran downhill for about 30 yards and piled up just before he got out of sight.
