CO unit 54 3rd

Its been awhile since I have posted anything on here. I drew this tag for this fall. I know the numbers are down, but looking for any other POSITIVE comments for this hunt and what to look for and expect?

My family and I drew second in 54 and are just hopeful it will be a shadow of what it was when we hunted it in 05.

Good luck to you both. Last time I was there I was so disappointed we turned our tags back in after scouting for a couple of days. I hope it has improved.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-04-11 AT 07:10PM (MST)[p]Its going to be awile before 54 recovers I hunted in 2008 and 2010 during the second season and have only seen three bucks and I've spent a total of almos two weeks in the field. Call the meat packing places in town they will tell you everything you need to know about the size and numbers of deer that have been taken the past couple of years compared to before the winter kill.

In 2008 I did see one 160 but couldnt get a shot and in 2010 I spent 6 days in over a foot of snow and saw 10 to 30 deer a day but only two small bucks I passed on.
