The mounts were done by Stan Taylor of Wildlife Creations in Glenrock Wy. He and Chad Beer who works for him as a taxidermist as well have done most all my mounts for the last six years. It is a well established shop and the turn over rate is usually 6 to 8 months. They will do a much quicker turn around if requested as well.

Super deer! Curious about the velvet. Is that natural or did you have the synthetic velvet put on the horns? Looks really good either way.

Great bucks, is that two main beams on the second buck? What a heavy buck how big are the mass measurements? Very very nice.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-19-11 AT 08:49PM (MST)[p]The top buck is 31" wide and the lower is 26" wide. The lower buck does not have a double mainbeam in fact was real weak on the mainbeams. He does carry good mass on everything comming off the G2 but the other mass measurements are average. The top buck is sporting some fake velvet that was applied by Research Manikins. His velvet was in great condition until I started moving him around to take pictures and cape him, but in the steep terrain he just did not want to stay put. After all that and the pack out it had to be done. The taxidermist at Research Manikins told me how to make it look as close as possibe by heating it with a hair dryer and brushing the warm fibers, then airbrushing the tips using only the overspray. Following his instructions it actually turned out better then I any other fake velvet I have seen. My taxidermist actually airbrushed the tips of the fibers for me and got the color an exact match. Thank all of you for your nice comments.

I guess you ship the heads to Stan,or do you make the drive over? What does he charge for a deer head?Does he have a web site? Thanks, Clay.Cliff.

Thanks again for the nice comments. Cliff I typically make the drive. I like the drive and dont really trust the shipping, but it is always an option. I usually take my daughter shopping in Casper and to dinner. I believe he charges $575 for a mule deer, but it is always worth it. If you want a closer inspection of his work your always welcome to come check it out. I dont think he has a web page. Not even a Facebook but he should.

Gotta' pay my respects to really good deer and congratulate the hunter. Well done!

Within the shadows, go quietly.

Clay those are two outstanding bucks, Your taxi did a great job on them. Hope you find a few more that made it thru the winter.

Excellent bucks and good looking mounts. Melinda mentioned that you had a nice buck posted on your facebook page last fall but I didn't think it was that nice. Great job.
