Set the cam out for 3 weeks and returned with 300 plus pics of a squirrel. about lost it when i played find the squirrel! hopefully im not the only one whos been through that.

What kind of Trail Cam are you using ? Are you as well getting just blank shots of nothing ? A few of my Stealth Cams give me all kinds of crap photos while my other Stealth Cams work excellent !!! Ya , it ticks me off to come back to whited out or blank photos .

Its actually a Moultrie d-50 lower end. No blank white shots. I found the squirrel in about 30 of the pics, but they were always day shots which makes sense being a rodent.

ya i had the same problem but it was a cow moose. and she bedded down right next to my salt block and stayed there for a couple of hours.

I haven't had any rodent issues but I have had a LOT of pictures with nothing on them except the scenery. I figured out two things that were going on in two different places. I had my camera on a tree the was too wispy. It rocked with the wind so it would set off pictures that way. Then Once I got it on something solid the moving shadows on the ground would set it off. I figured it out after studying the pictures sequences and you could see the shadows change from frame to frame.

FYI,

There has been a new law in Utah the last 2 years that states you cant put a trail cam up until 1 week before a hunt in the area you are scouting opens up. If you dont beleive me go to wildlife.utah.gov under NEWS and read the " getting ready for bow hunt section.

This really sucks and if you are not careful the mighty forrest circus might have a nice present for you.

I have never heard that law until i read that on the website as well. I have had little birds set my camera off but is really upsetting iis when the wind gets blowing hard enough to move grass or bushes. I guess i wont have to worry about that now though since i only have the week before my hunt with my camera's now. ;)
