Nevada unit 032 deer

anyone hunted this unit in the last few years ?? any suggestions on where to look also what can a person expect for buck size in this unit ?? of course always looking for that Monster buck but also want to be realistic any help or suggestions would be appreciated

I hunted the rifle hunt three years ago and archery two years ago. Which season did you draw?

a friend of mine drew it hell I cant draw crap..he hunted it 16 years ago I think its the early season..he was just curious how the deer # s have changed & if there have been any fires around there he is headed towards Denio this weekend to do some scouting

Well, I can't tell you much about the difference between now and 16 years ago (three years ago was the first time I'd been there). I thought deer numbers were decent. I've had a tough time finding them this time of year; however, towards the end of July into August, they will be in good sized bachelor groups in specific draws. If he's seeing a lot of does / fawns, he needs to look elsewhere. The bucks will stay near their summer country up into October (this has been my experience). Another thing that I thought worked for me down there was that wherever I found sheep, I did not find bucks.
