I just got my 2010 Colorado buck back along with a buck I killed with a muzzle loader back in 1995 that I had re-mounted. I've used a few taxidermists over the years, but I've found a new one I'm sticking with.
Ty Clingler of Fall Taxidermy of St. Anthony (Parker) Idaho is a phenomenal artist. It doesn't hurt that he is one of the most reasonable taxidermists in the valley either.
These mounts have been done for some time; I just hadn't found the time to go pick them up.
This first buck is from CO unit 30 3rd season. It was a really tough year in 30 and this was the best buck I saw. We did see one three point that had a little larger frame, but I liked this buck better. I videotaped this buck for about 15 minutes on opening day, and then let him walk. After hunting the area for several more days and passing on lots of other bucks, I decided that if this buck gave me another chance, I would take him. The rest is history.
This next buck was a re-mount like I said. It is my best buck to date, and I was never happy with the original mount. I'm very pleased with the re-mount.
I think that Ty is hands down the best taxidermist for the money in SE Idaho. His quality is on the top end and his prices are on the low end for this area. He has great attention to detail and these photos don't do the mounts justice. The eyes, ears, nostrils, etc. all look amazing.
Here are a few close ups to show the attention to detail. Let me know what you think.
Thanks for looking, Smokepoler63
