Well its been nearly two years, but he is nearly done and back. I took forever on getting him the base ( I built it ). But I think he's turning out pretty decent. Taxi has one more piece of sage, and and some final hide stuff to do he says. I also found an arrowhead while packing him out that I will put on their as well.

Sorry, but only cell phone pics, so not the best quality.

Yea, retired. I am trying to build houses. That's not going to well.

Still got my SJ bear tag. I will be down in Sep. Probably see you then.

Man. Im jealous. I love the frame on that deer. He is super long and looks absolutely huge on that form. Did you mention a score? Dimensions?

That pedestal is really cool to man. I like the inserts that are a different shade. Great work.

Thanks for all the good response. I am pretty stoked about the deer.
He ended up 196 5/8 gross. minus velvet and deducts would come in around 191-192 I would guess.
"Only" weak thing on him is his G2's.
27 without cheater, 28 with.

Pedestal wood came off of an old barn on my parents place. Half had been burned, so I used some of each colors to make it stand out. I think it turned out well. Though I built it pretty solid and it weighs a ton. Guess it won't fall over.

I will try to post a pic of the arrowhead. I had boned his all out, so the pack was pretty heavy. As I was leaning over for a rest I spied it laying there. Pretty cool.
