Season started?

What state has a season going? I saw a nice buck in the back of an older dodge pickup. He was displaying it as if he had nothing to hide, but the more I thought about it, I don't know of any seasons going. I saw him on hwy 40 near the currant creek store.

Bessy idea makes more sense so far. The truck was headed west, maybe I should have turned around and chased this dude down. Maybe I could have had a free tag.
