CONGRATS TO THE HUNTER......BUT THATS LIKE PICKING AN ORANGE OFF THE TREE BEFORE ITS RIPE. I AM A HARD HORNED TYPE OF GUY...THAT FUZZ HORN COULD STILL BE GROWING. WHATS EVEN WORSE TO ME IS WHEN I SEE A BULL ELK STILL IN THE VELVET SOMEONE HAS POPPED, JUST ME THOUGH.........NICE BUCK.............YD.

Wow, that thing is a pig! Congrats to the hunter and team Mossback! Im amazed that a deer can even grow a rack like that.

GBA

Nice Job Tory, all that hard work and all those many hours you put in paid off. Congrats to the hunter Robert Kay. I know the hunter hired Mossback, but Tory Brock deserves the credit on this one. Mossback just gets to put there name on it. No offense is intended there, just trying to give credit to where it is due.

Tory often deserves, but doesn't receive, credit...I think he could care less though. He just enjoys huntin the biggest bucks on the planet!! Congrats Tory!!

wonder how they got that Monster cleaned up so well for the picture, I cant see a drop of blood anywhere. not saying i want to see a graphic photo but I think the deer is sleeping. or they scared it to death. Congrats to Mossback, Hunter and whoever found this Beast!

Awesome looking muley. That buck was not going to put on another inch. Long done growing. All that would be left to do on that buck is the velvet to dry and rub off.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-17-11 AT 11:20AM (MST)[p]I aree with you Sasckman points are almost sharp at the ends and not round and blunt.

On a side note that is one smokin muley!!!!!!!!!!

Edit for miss spelling

I agree YD- no matter how big and good looking a buck is in the velvet- you can't beat a hard horned, swollen necked buck...

Coolest buck I have seen on here to date, awesome job. Anymore pictures floating around anywhere?

Hunt Hard. Shoot Straight. Kill Clean. Apologize to No One.

Teryn---I would have thought by now that you would have one like that spotted in 2b for my buddie's hunt in November, LOL!!!

That's a REALLY good looking buck with some nice character.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

When the velvet turns from green colored into brown (which happens fairly quickly)..........they are finished growing.

Some bucks have thick velvet and some have thin. Sometimes it's hard to tell what a buck's mass is going to be hard-horned until after he is rubbed.

That's a big ol' buck. He appears to be a fairly symmetrical non-typical, as his abnormal points seem to match each respective side. Congratulations to all involved.

I didn't know they were permitted for the moon! That looks like a barren landscape, probably took it before the archers got a chance this weekend. I heard about this last week, and I agree, probably left 15 inches on the table. Its a beautiful giant, clock

That's what money will buy ya. He's got to be closing in on $1 Million he's spent on deer in the last 3 years. He's got plenty. He just gave $1.1 Million to the Humain Society.

That is a stud of a buck for sure. I don't know the guy, but I am surprised that anyone would support mule deer hunting (in a Big Way) through the purchase of expensive tags and then go and blow a million plus to a liberal bunch of antis such as the Humane Society

Amazing buck! Big Congrats to Doyle and his cell phone provider to get that call placed to TORY B. He truly does know the strip and giant bucks.

That is an amazing animal for sure, however, I am way more impressed with a diy hunter that takes a mediocre buck that he or she has found themselves. Not taking anything away from the animal or the hunter. Just my .02...

You got to be kidding me. A mediocre buck over this HODAD? You are either full of penis envy or trying to rile up the MM members.

I know Robert Kay and have done some work with him before permitting, and certainly hope that he didn't donate a red cent to the Humane Society. That bunch has stolen some of my video footage to raise money to shut down running hounds. I'm posting a link to that video so none of you will ever donate a damn dime to that bunch..........

http://www.humanesociety.org/issues/hound_hunting/

Not all of that footage is mine, certainly not the clip of the guy using the whip on those hounds, but much of it is mine and was stolen off my Hound Dog Crazy DVDs..........

Anybody that can watch that clip and not get pissed is not a hunter......

It is a beautiful animal but that is not how it should be done. If this deer was taken by a DIY hunter in either the bow or rifle season think how different the tone of this thread would be.

No doubt about it, that is a huge buck. I am very impressed by this buck.

+1 on DIY being more impressive, and for that matter, playing by the same rules that everyone else plays by.

Many of these guys buy these tags in the name of conservation. But the more honorable way may be to simply cut a $200,000 check to MDF or a state game management agency. Another option is to buy the tag, kill your buck, and go on about your business. But all too often, these types of hunters pay for these high dollar tags, hunt outside the normal season dates, hire the best information network in the west, and then send pictures around and brag about the "accomplishment". That creates the anti-big money sentiment so many share. So, I will say it again, great buck, I am truly impressed by it. I am impressed that "Tory" found it, good job man!. To impress everyone.......we all need to be playing by the same rules. In this case, I recognize the buck for the monster that he is, but am generally not impressed by the circumstances.

Do you think the guy even tried with a bow..? Or did they just go in the first possible day with a rifle like they did to Sampson (I think that was the 300" AZ Strip buck)...??

"Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!" 2 Ne. 28: 24

BrownRage, 1 Ne. 16:14 (to quote the cult's hand book) And it came to pass that we did take our bows and our arrows.

Only 35" wide??? Guess he was in a hurry and didn't want to hunt for a big one :)

So how much does a buck like that cost? License Fee, Mossback + other guides/spotters/assistants and how about the tip? I say spend it if you have it!!! what a deer!!

Not sure how much but I would bet a nickle that he spent over 100k on that buck..

But hell if ya got it spend it on what ya want. Great buck!

Good to know bucks like that are roaming this world. Amazing! Congrats to all.

Regarding the thread hijack:

Comparing the Humane Society of Utah and HSUS is a stretch. A real long one. Sounds like the Kay's are benevolent people, kudos to them.
