It all started a couple weeks back when my bro and I decided that we were going to put in the time and do some serious scouting and find a good buck and keep on him until the season started. (He usually flings the basket bucks early in the season). We found him early and watched him grow over about 5 weeks. He just kept getting better and better as the weeks went on. The week before the hunt we caught him on the trail cam.

We watched and patterned him. Opening morning came and we caught him on his way to his bed. He(my bro),made the shot and tagged the buck of a lifetime. We knew he was big but not this big.

Right after he made the shot we watched my cousin get in on another great buck and make it happen.

It was my 5 year old son's first time out hunting and I had to explain that this probably would never happen again....ever.

Very nice. You guys are doing it right. It might happen again.

Congrat's guys.... thanks for the great story and YES you have a trophy of a lifetime. And to have your son along makes it even soooo much more of a great experience of a lifetime for all of you. OK dad...now you have to do your best for a repeat next year...looks like you guys have put the bar up pretty high for your son's expectations. Good luck and have a great next season because your hunt in 2011 is a lifetime experience :)

Thanks for sharing...

Very nice bucks!!! That is what it's all about. Spending time in the outdoors with family and to top it off two great bucks. I'm sure you and your son will tell this story every deer season around the campfire. Nice job.

Damnation guys! Great job, well done!

Thanks for sharing the pics and a bit of the tale.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-24-11 AT 02:15PM (MST)[p]What beautiful bucks! Great job and congrats to both of you. What do they score? I'm also curious if you were on private land- as much as I'd love to take my boys with me, there is no way they'd make it where I have to hike to find deer even close to those!

Gotta say im a little jelous stixnblades sweet buck for you and your buddy your right gonna be hard to top that day.
