Kansas Whitetail

Had a quick two-day trip to Kansas a couple of weeks ago. It's not blasphemy to post whitetail pics on this site is it? Those things are pretty dang fun! I think the best thing about them is the quicker you get done... the more roosters you get to shoot!

Nothing wrong with a good Whitetail now and then. Beautiful 9 point! Hope the pheasant hunting was just as good.

Come to Wisconsin! Unlimited tags in the CWD zone which is roughly the southern 1/3 of the state. Some of thee best whitetails in the coutry.

Conrats on a fine buck! Where in KS were you? I've been there pheasent huntging a few times and went on an archery whitetail hunt a couple years ago (unsuccessful). But I am going Nov of 07 on an archery rut hunt. I can't wait! Congrats again on a great buck!

Congrats on your WT. Had a rifle hunt this Dec and didn't see much, certainly not as big as your 9pt. No 10pts. 10 hunters in camp, 6 bucks taken but only 1 good one, an 8pt that grossed 153. Very disappointing. Went to Sask several years ago and was not any better. 8 hunters took 3 bucks. Only 1 was any good, a 142 10pt. Think I'll go back to Africa. Can hunt every other year for plains game and take 6 or so animals for the price of 2 whitetail hunts.

Got any more info on that WI hunting you mentioned?

All the info you need is on the WI DNR website. They give out 4 tags per day in the CWD area and this year they were either sex. Next year they may make it so that you need to shoot a doe before you can shoot a buck but I'm sure the number of tags will be the same. Wack'em and Stack'em!!

Hey Gator,

Major drought out there and they haven't had a decent hatch for years. The birds are few and far between. We still managed to pick up a few.

Beautiful buck , congrats on a great hunt.I'd love to get over to KS. This past July my daughter played in a World Softball tourny in KS and my wife brought me back some brochures on whitetail hunts there.Maybe some day , I understand it'sgetting pretty hard to draw...
