This morning up Tollgate canyon some idiots took down what would have been Top 5 all-time in the state of Utah Shiras Moose. Many know that that area is a honey hole. So you Assholes in the Nissan be aware that DWR is on your ass. If I find you all be putting a couple of G5s though your tires and the 50 cal through you engine block.

I am heading up Tolegate Canyon in about 30 min. Give me more detail of what's going on.

If they shot it this morning it must still be on the ground unless they had 10 guy's with them.

Maybe a dumb question here. But what makes you think it was an illegal kill?

You can't hunt in Tollgate canyon!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-11 AT 09:45AM (MST)[p]Thanks for the clarification. I guess calling an area you can't hunt a "honey hole" threw me off.

Is there a "Governor's Tag" for moose..? I assume there is. If so, would they let that tag holder hunt just about anywhere. Seems like a Top-5 all-time bull would qualify for the Governor's tag...

Just wondering. I truly hope the DWR is on these guys. And if it was illegal, they deserve what's coming to them... I'd much rather find out it was legally killed though. it's a happier ending for everyone... :D

Someone "poached" according to you so you feel the need to commit a felony to feel better and show them a lesson? Oh the irony.

So Horn_Star?

What you gonna do?

Sit there with your Teeth in your Mouth & Do Nothing?

This is TARDville, where people do & will take the Law in to their own hands when needed!

OK,I'll Quit,I'm expecting a Reply from Horn_Star!:D

For "GOSH" Sakes,We got "TARDS" on this Site that can't handle a Damn,I Mean DANG thing, maybe MM should add a Church/Biblical Forum for the MM'ers that can't handle the Hunting Forums?
Pfffffffffff............!!!

I don't care if they're big or small!
If they throw lead I like em all!
:p

Would like to hear more details as I am quite lost on getting just a tid bid of info and that somebody is in trouble. Can someone please explain better so that we can all understand what is going on.

Let me clear it up for you, littlejoe.

The governor's tag holder was hunting moose in a private canyon in Utah with a toll gate at the bottom. He had just come from the G5 summit in Nissan, France and didn't have enough money for the toll, so he poached a huge moose with a 50 caliber rifle. Tikka is going to Tolegate canyon in about 30 minutes, but he's not going to find anything because Bess has teeth in his mouth.

Any more questions?

Thanks for the clarification sureshot. I got now. That was good.

Sorry guy's I never heard from the (OP) about any details.

I was on my way up to Tollgate Canyon to visit my Mom and Dad.

SureShot thanks for the Monday morning laugh, that was good.

RE: Off Topic--- Poacher Alert- update.

I am have been offline the last 2 days. DWR was up at the site yesterday and will send me a final report. However what is known that 3 guys shot the Bull late Friday or Early Saturday. They were able to load the Bull in the Nissan and drive off. They were spotted driving out trying to conceal the kill with garbage bags.

The Bull in Question had been hanging out with a group of 5-6 other bulls all summer. Last night I saw 4 of them and he was not with them. My guess he is 48+ with solid rear panels and weaker fronts (but not as weak as most bulls in the wasatch).

Now I know some of you on this board can't help yourself and have a need to write smug replies.

I don"t maybe you in some way think its no big deal for someone to take down an animal out of season, out of bounds, outside the rules.

DWR had 2 officers up their yesterday and will send me a report once they are finished. For the true sportsman on the board I will fwd a copy to those that are interested.

BTW I understand a huge bull 200+ was taken in the Chalk Creek drainage. Congradts to that legal hunter. With Chalk creek only 20 miles or so from my place nice to know we have got some good bloodlines in the area.

RE: Off Topic--- Poacher Alert- update.

sorry dude

It isn't no you think. Those 3 guys spotted I hope they get caught. It"s a shame to see sucha nice bull get poached on the ground.>I am have been offline the sheriff and DWR.

RE: Off Topic--- Poacher Alert- update.

just wait until the wolves show up in numbers. They poach all year long...

RE: Off Topic--- Poacher Alert- update.

Genkikai- I would really be interested in seeing that report once they are finished. Thanks for posting that info and clarifying what may have happened. I have been watching a 40" plus moose for the past few weeks. I have seen him several times. I don't have a tag or anything but he is a dandy by Utah's standards. So this interests me. Anytime someone poaches an animal regardless of it's size it bothers me.

Thanks

RE: Off Topic--- Poacher Alert- update.

I've seen a few moose in that canyon with bullet holes in there paddles... Hopefully d w r will find something with the info.......genkikia pm sent.
