Im only posting this video in attempt to get these clowns to remove it from youtube.com.

I have about 1000 things to complain about in this video--maybe Im hyper-sensitive but these guys are a absolute morons.

"You skin grizz?"

Nothing should ever have to suffer for that long.
Seems like they need to worry a little more about the animal

Shoot em till their dead

Wow I am speakless!! Those rednecks thought that was a good shot at 65 yards I glad we didn't see a bad shot from them. Wow for over 5 minutes that little buck suffered that is just a shame. the second shot he fired into it from like 30 yards was even worse of a shot..

I watched this from the beginning to end. I almost had to turn it off about 10 times. These are the kind of borderline retards that post video and become the faces of bowhunting. This is what the non-hunting public thinks all bowhunters do. This goes beyond disgraceful. I think it falls into a criminal category and should be forwarded to the Division.

Wow! This makes me sick. Unfortunately there are a bunch of these kind of jackasses out there. And to make it worse, they use that kind of language around those young kids. I also wanted to turn it off several times. Horrible!!!!

SOMEONE SHOULD STRING THEM UP AND LET ONE OF US "TAKE A SHOT AT THEIR ASS" AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!!

SICKENING

muleyman

Wow that makes me sick, not surprised to see the word Utah attached to the video.

I agree this is disgusting- These are not true hunters they are a complete and utter disgrace. Shame on you for even attempting that shot at 65 yards with a bow- You cheer and scream like it was an amazing shot. It was a horrible shot!!! You didn't hit the deer in the vitals all you did was wound it and then you have the audacity to shoot it again from quite a distance because you are too week to go finish the job correctly and then video tape the deer laying there suffering while you get your glory moment. You have your little boy learning how to swear like a man and teaching him to shoot it it the A#!. Are you kidding me- I could care less that it was a two point. I have shot plenty of them, I like their meat better, but to do it this way is absolutely and undeniably unsportsmanlike and a true disgrace to hunting. What a freaking Joke!!!

That makes me sick. Great to see that they were out teaching a small child how to act like an idiot.

The only thing with which I disagree that any of you said is whoever said they "almost turned it off".....I did. Just couldn't take any more of that stupidity.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-19-11 AT 05:49PM (MST)[p]I don't know! I keep seeing what i'm reading about this thread and am wondering how much time many of you have spent out on the weekends of general season hunts in Utah. I spent two seasons in a row, as if one wasn't enough, and plainly saw worse things, as bad anyway, as what this flick portrays.

Without going into too much detail or near covering all the atrocities that i witnessed, there was waves of hunters, it seemed, continuously shooting wildly at anything that moved with crippled does, spikes, and young bucks having guys with big knives holding on and hanging off them in attempts to cut the wounded critters throats.

As i said, i don't know! This flick is obviously a bad example of how to do it but from what i've seen with my own eyes, it's definitely not the worse of what goes on out there on some public lands general season hunts.

A total disgrace to the hunting community. They should never be allowed another hunting license. What they did borders on criminal.
No human with an ounce of compassion would let an animal suffer that long and then brag/laugh about it.
Great shot--not in this lifetime!!!!

Makes me sick! Thanks for posting, I signed up for a youtube account just so I could "dislike" that video and give them my thoughts on the magnitude of their stupidity.

In a earlier post I mentioned the term or phrase "real" bowhunters. This would probably clarify the direct opposite of such. The first step to retardism is when he took the low percentage shot to begin with! The idiot yelling shoot him the ass, well Im a loss for words. As far as finishing him off, I do not recommend walking up and cutting his throat as it is just not safe. Seen a guy that had tried that and got a gapping gash in his legs and damn near broke his leg. Not a huge deal ext to the road but none the less can be serious. The dumbass should of, when determined the deer was not going anywhere, should of walked up as close as he could and finished it off even if he had to empty his frickin quiver!!!
Then they just had to post it so that every non hunters can continue to, not they are going to change their mind, label us hunters as cold blooded killers. Now dont get me wrong, killing is killing no matter how you look at it, but have some respect for the animal you are pursuing!! When that is lost, A guy should probably stop hunting.
The sadest thing, as someone already mentioned, this is not he worst thing that occurs in the field. Some so called bowhunters are merely shooters. They take wild ass 90 to 120 yard shots and think thier cool! Hell I can hit a basketball sized ballon at 100 yards, but would never take a shot at an animal at that range. To much can go wrong and frankly to me that is not bowhunting!
The line between Igorance and stupidity is almost nonexistant!!

Lokk like average, everyday bowhunters to me.

LOL!.....couldn't help myself!

"If God did not intend for man to hunt animals, he would have made broccoli more fun to shoot"

WOW, I almost could not watch that! What jerks and they wonder why everyone hates hunters. Rather than zooming in with the camera on a suffering world class dink, they should of put another arrow in him.

What a bunch of PRICKS!

What a horrible experience to place on youtube. I truely feel bad for that little boy. Awful example of hunting. I hope that he can grow up and make better choices than the adult figures that are currently in his circle.

I'm not about to watch it a second time but if i did I'd be looking to see if it was BO Karate and Harry Johnson doing their take on the Utah bowhunter. Absolutely pathetic.

I realize that things go wrong in bow hunting but I saw no respect for the animal in that video.

I saw a group of guys riding in the back of a pickup several times this season.. what gets me is they all had bows. all had backpacks on... but they rode in the back of the pickup. four tags... what gets accomplished this way? oh ya I just saw it in the video... surprised there wasn't more than one shooter.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-19-11 AT 11:10PM (MST)[p]Wow!!! Could they have at least turned off the 3 vehicles before they climbed on top to get a better vantage point. I wonder if the shooter had to cut yards being that it was a steep angle shooting from the roof of the suburban??$#@! That is sad!!! Terrible language and the close up of the poor little 1 year old buck dying was almost to much to watch. How do you stand 2 feet from the deer and NOT finish it off. It looked like puss in boots from Shrek.

Reminds me of a time I was dropping off a deer at a butcher and a guy pulled up in the parking lot and walks in to the building, a few minutes later he and the butcher come out and open his tail gate and there lies a little 3 point ungutted with its head up and eyes wide open. He had driven for 25 minutes with the buck in his truck and thought it was dead. Needless to say the butcher had to use some machine to kill it. I was blown away. This was a rifle kill by the way.

They definately should have put that deer out of it's suffering. There was no excuse for that.

I dont get everyone calling it a bad shot. He only hit a few inches high at 65 yards. I'm sure thats about the same, if not better than most on here could do.

The you-tube comments were almost as retarded as the video. People mocking them for cheering after getting a 2 point. I hope that commentor hasn't seen Fred Eichler ever. Its ok to get excited over any animal. And people saying that they broke some law, and forwarded the link to the DWR. Please...

I think this is typical family/road hunting. The guys who took the shot was obviously prepared to make a long shot. He just happens to have a family full of dipshits. They did all tell him to hurry up and finish it off too, but for what ever reason they decided to let it suffer.

The swearing was very heavy for having a kid present, but if thats how he wants to raise his kid so be it. It's his kid.

Thats my opinion on it, and like others have said, it shouldn't have been put online, but its not that unusual.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-11 AT 00:49AM (MST)[p]I'm sure the DWR has been provided this link already by now, but I'm going to forward it just in case...I feel it is my duty & responsibility as an ethical & compassionate hunter myself to inform somebody of authority of the absolute immaturity, irresponsibility, embarrassing, demoralizing and disrespectful act taken place here in our state & public lands. The fact that these worthless excuse of hunters had the audacity to praise & adore such an unethical and questionable shot (from the road no less) and then make hideous comments like "shoot him in the ass", only to place it on YouTube for every non-hunter and wildlife activist in the entire world to see...is pure classlessness and ignorance, setting an extremely poor example and giving those of us in the hunting community who are conscious about our actions in the field an enormous black-eye. I fully understand the excitement that comes with a successful archery harvest, however there's is absolutely no rational reason whatsoever to hoot & holler like 5th grade boys in a school yard fight as that buck lay paralyzed fighting for his life while they continue to proudly celebrate such an "accomplishment"...especially in the presence of such a young & impressionable child, that's not the correct or proper way to teach a kid how to hunt. I'm not entirely certain that any actual laws were broken here, however that's not the point...I hope someone can track these idiots down and make them held accountable for their atrocious actions & behavior.

+1 392t Fat piece of chit standing in the driver seat!!! What a bunch of punks!!! THAT'S NOT HUNTING!!

Government doesn't fix anything and has spent trillions proving it!!!
Let's face it...After Monday and Tuesday, even the calender says WTF!

looks like you guys all have the same opinion... however I think that peta would not have a problem with it. I recently watched a documentary on this website called crying wolf. I think these guys handle that deer nicer than wolves. pretty compareable in my opinion

I hate to see an animal suffer expecially an adolesent, and I do condemn the comments (shoot it in the Ass) however he did not shoot it in the ass he had a good quartering away shot and the placement was not terrible. the deer went down emmediatly, how is that a bad shot? It may not be the best shot but a Horrible one? Come on be honest with yourselves in most cases the deer runs off sometimes you here a crash and sometimes you dont but most every experienced bow hunter does what? He waits for a couple hours before pursuing the animal. What in the world do you think you are waiting for? the animal is dying and you do not want to bump it from its (death bed) the only difference here is that you are seeing the footage. That being said I dont like to see this footage either and do hope that they take it down or just cut after the deer falls!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-11 AT 09:30AM (MST)[p]I watched it yesterday. Again I turned it on today. The video was almost 5 mins now it is 2.5 and has a disclaimer.

Either way you look at it. Think it right or wrong we all have to remember we are under the microscope here and should do all we can to be respectful and mindful of our actions.

You wanna see another idiot go on youtube and type in brandon and his elk another not so good way of finishing an elk. That was horrible they used really good language in that video to.

AT 2:09 looks like they are also driving around drinking some beers just to complete the picture of redneck a whole.

Saw this video the day it was posted. It is definitely edited down now.

Just a few comments- First off, I don't think shooting a bow from some mountain top dirt road is illegal. But I believe if he is shooting from the drivers seat it is.

Second, the 65 yard shot is not necessarily bad, but let's face it, he was shooting at a very small target, and quite frankly, got lucky hitting it. (it was walking after all).

Third, I can see just about any of us getting excited upon making that shot, maybe we all wouldn't make complete idiots of ourselves, but everyone gets excited in their own way. As it stands, these guys are of the Extremely Excited persuasion.

Fourth, the adivce to shoot the deer in the "A", is disgusting. The langauge in front of the kid, disgusting.

Fifth, the archer was pretty chicken to go out there to the buck to finish it off. He was gonna pull up at 30 yards for another shot, and then took one at about 10 yards (that has been edited out now). If you're not prepared to finish off the deer up close and personal, you shouldn't be hunting with a bow.

Lastly, I disapprove of posting it on the internet as a public video. Just look how many guys on here joke that this is typical for Utah. It gives me a bad name as an archer in utah, and as a Utahn.

Enough said I think. Some things about it are typical, others are not. Either way, those bad parts out weigh any good that can be seen in the video by along shot.

You can take the Trash out of the trailer, but you can't take the trailer out of the Trash.

They edited the video a bunch from the original one posted. Even the original one was cut down. That deer laid there alive, with the imbeciles standing over it, for at least 10-15 minutes if not more.

Just checked the video page again to see the "edited" version, and it looks like the spineless (no pun intended) butt-heads removed the comment I left for them on YouTube under the link (which was essentially the same thing I originally posted in this thread)...apparently they didn't like it for some reason, hmmm wonder why???

Not all hunters from Utah are as fargin retarded as these"hunters". Watching that ##### made me sick!

Pretty dumb putting it on YouTube but the content doesn't surprise me. I don't have an issue with the distance. I don't think I would have taken a quatering shot at 60 or 65 but who knows. There are plenty of deer shot with bows every season that lay down and take a long time to die, alot longer than this one, you just don't get to see it. They waited too long though, it was evident the buck wasn't going anywhere, should have walked up and shot it. As far as shots go, wasn't that bad a shot actually. If you notice the camera man was saying 60 and after he shot he yelled some about "65 yards baby". Stands to reason he would hit high. I celebrate, I use different laguage, but I celebrate.

If you disect the video and take every aspect for what it is, it really isn't all that bad. Hard to watch? Absolutly! I think anyone here that has killed more than a few deer has expirienced something that happened in this video.

I don't think that any one part of this scenerio is much different than what many of us do.

The PEOPLE in the video are the problem! They acted like idiots. Shoot it in the A$$, are you kidding? Add the fact that they posted it on YouTube and holy hanna! People screw things up and I think this is a PERFECT example of alot of hunters that are out there. Doesn't surprise me in the least. They could have been standing on their chairs at a UFC fight if it was only audio. These are the new hunters guys! They got into hunting to be macho. Probably got started with a friend at work. Nobody has taught them how to do it right. I have actually hunted (once) with a guy like these guys. He'd never been taught. I don't know why everybody is wringing thier hands over this, these kind of hunters are everywhere!

+1 AZ Walker.

I dont have a problem with the shot either. In fact, I think it was a great shot and congrats to the hunter on making a awesome 60+ yard shot. I dont have a problem with them celebrating either. The kid waked a deer (likely his first bow kill ever) and he's pumped! Nothing wrong with that. So what if its a 2 point. For most of us this may not be something worth celebrating but to each his own.

On the other hand, all the foul language (in front of a little kid none the less), the comment about shooting the deer in the a$$, posting on youtube, filming the deer suffering etc. I have problems with. These guys are a bunch of clowns and the fact that they posted the video on youtube shows they are not dealing with a full deck of cards. The sad reality is, just like AZ Walker said, there are a ton of these types of hunters out in the woods. They are the majority. Like it or not, the hunting crowd is a pretty mixed bag.

I've noticed the video has now been edited, which is a little better and the ADVISORY that's now posted is surprisingly well written. I think the worse part of the video was the guy saying shoot it in the butt. The shooter was intending to quickly shoot it again but the other guy told him not to. Seemed to me that most of the stupid comments were coming from one or two guys, which should be left home next time.

There's always next year

How can some of you guys say that was a great shot? He missed it clean at 31 yards but some how his Halemary while the deer is walking shot is great. Whatever. Classic Utards.

Makes me sick that this was posted on You tube. As hunters we've all made mistakes and have probably acted like little kids at times. But allowing that animal to suffer like they did is never ok and on top of that putting it on you tube for all to see...sickening

I missed a wounded buck at 9 yards once. I made a 62 yard shot that was double lung but I wanted to end it quicker so I approached, drew... and missed a 9 yard shot. Yes the video is idiotic and a perfect example of what none of us strive to be but come on guys, do you really think this isn't common occurance???

"The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle." General John J. "Black Jack" Pershing, US Army

A common occurence does not make it right.

If you miss at 9 yards or 30 yards, HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU CAN HIT IT AT 65 YARDS??! It's called luck at that point.

Where's the logic?

If I were up on the hill with a high powered rifle looking down I'm afraid I would have used it.

Hopefully they will be found and charged for their stupidity. Can you teach ethics? These idiots shouldn't be able to own weapons.

I agree they they are idiots but as far as my 9 yard miss, it was a brain fart, plain and simple.

I CAN HIT A PIE PLATE AT 65 EVERY SINGLE SHOT WITHOUT FAIL. If I couldn't, I wouldn't take a 62 yard shot. My longest kill shot BTW.

Yes you are right they are idiots, zero wisdom... zero good judgement. But NOT based on the shot, based on everything else they did. Everyone is getting all worked up acting like the sky is falling. Pull your head out of the sand, it just got caught on video this time! I agree, I hate it, it scares me that there are guys like that out there but there are hundreds of so-called hunters like this out there. So are you gonna piss and moan on a forum or actually get of your butt and do something about it?

he could have rushed his first shot and plain missed....taken a breathe and composed himself for the second shot. how many "expert" hunters have you seen make a bad shot and admit it. it does happen. it wasnt a great shot, but it wasnt a bad shot either. yeah, some of the comments were stupid and the swearing was a bit much, but come on people. you all have church mouths in the mountains? also, already stated, you dont rush in on an animal after it's been stuck. you give it time to expire, regardless of a good shot or not. you just happen to be witnessing it here. i wouldnt have posted it on youtube myself, nor am i defending these guys. unless i didnt see it, where is the proof that an illegal shot was made? and if you DONT KNOW, what the hell gives you the right to turn them in? being untactful is not a crime. oh, and nobody here has EVER been on a road hunt either huh? you're all just too good for that. ever been exhausted from days of tromping, and just felt like taking an morning/evening drive. nope, didnt think so.

anyone that thinks this is not a horrible excuse for hunting ethics hasn't seen the whole video. And if you have seen it and you still dont think its that bad, then you should be aloud to hunt. The video as is, has had about 5 minutes cut off to make it not look so bad. The way it is now is a far cry from what it was. So if you haven't seen the whole thing then please no comments.

Brownboy

I agree with forks here. You have no proof that any wrong was comitted in taking of this deer. Stupidty is not a crime. Addict you are a jackass for posting this video as well on this site. You are only breeding negativity and feeding into these fools who posted the video on youtube.

brownboy, i'm going to suggest you dont tell people if the CAN or CANNOT post their opinions on a PUBLIC forum....got that pal!

What? Who are you?

Tell me not to comment? What happened in the rest of the video? The deer sat there longer? Someone made potty talk?

What about every other whitetail hunting show where they gut shoot a buck and let it sit all night? Oh because theres not a camera there the animal doesn't suffer?

I'll tell you what Brown"eye" how about you don't tell me what to comment on. If you can't stomach the kill maybe you shouldn't be hunting, maybe go hold your wifes purse while she shops. Everyone that has not agreed with the majority about the shot has agreed that the guys in the video were idiots. If it were Jim Shockey they would have edited the buck laying there out of the video, does that magically mean it didn't happen? Snap back to reality a bit there bub. This kind of thing happens ALL THE TIME!!!! Does it make it right? No. But why sit here on a hunting forum and complain. Are you teaching a hunters ed course anywhere??? If not shut up, get off your tail and do something about what you see as a problem. Tell me not to post.... go crap in your hand!

I think many other bow hunters would have taken the shot especially if it had been a decent buck. Big mistake for putting it on youtube. Stuff like this you just keep to yourself and learn from your mistakes, not put on the world wide web. I'm sure this will be all over the anti-websites.

MEAT_SAW--

Read my disclaimer at the beginning of the post. You clearly didnt see the whole video even though you were driving the Jeep in between intense glassing and sips of the beer can you left on the roll bar(no laws broken there).

I could care less about a 65 yd shot. I also could care less that the shot didnt kill the deer immediately--happens every day.

What I care about is that these clowns posting this garbage on youtube to fuel ant-hunting sentiment.

Read my initial comment. If you knew anything about youtube and its policies you'd know that the 200 negative comments and multiple complaints the video generated in the first few days of its upload rsulted in success in my book. The video was tagged and they edited at least two minutes of the buck suffering with more vulgarity. As far as I'm concerned, posting the thread worked.

I appreciate everyone for letting those clowns and youtube viewers know how other hunters feel about this crap.

meat_saw, I'd love to hear another incoherent rebuttal.

"You skin grizz?"

Addict, you truly are an ass for posting that video on this site. There is better ways to convey the message that you wanted to portray. Just because some fool does something stupid and assinine does not make it right for you to publish the same crap.

That's dumb! Nothing wrong with posting that link here and starting a discussion! Telling him he shouldn't start a discussion is as bad as the newbie telling us not to comment.

I partially disagree with some of the posts about the shot distance but as a whole I completely with why it was posted and the reponse by most as to the idiots involved. Now, do I think our hair should be on fire about it. No. But this should be an alarm clock to some that this crap is very common and its time to do something about it. Even if its saying something when we're in the field when we witness it.

My hope is that through threads like these, we finally get hunters to rise up and say no more. Istead of passing by and shaking our heads, we stop and tell people to knock it off. So, you get in a confrontation, big deal, at least you're standing up for what's right! I can promise you I'll be saying something and if you see me with a black eye you can assume one of two things. I either spent to much at Cabelas and my woman got me or I stood up to an idiot in the field.
