Duck Creek Area

I have been hunting the Duck Creek area for the past 10 years with either a bow or muzzleloader. I have heard that the majority of the deer have migrated out of the area by the rifle hunt. Does anyone know if this is true? I have a friend that just had a triple bypass that has a southern rifle tag and would like to take him down there, I just want to make sure that the deer have not left the area by the rifle season. Thank you in advance for any information.

It depends on the weather. Duck creek is a madhouse, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near there during the rifle hunt.

Honestly if the weather stays nice you can get into a lot of deer up by Duck Creek on the rifle. Most of the deer in there move off toward the east side of Zion National Park and around Coral Pink Sand Dunes as soon as it gets cold. Some of the older deer stay up there until the snow pushes them off. Hunt up there for a day or two and if there are no deer take an hour drive south on 89 and get one.

Thank you for the replies, I know that it seems like I see more and more hunter early on the Bow and Muzzy hunts. The idea of the same amount of hunters with rifles out there is a little nerve racking.
