unit 21a New Mexico

Hey guys, new here and kinda new to New Mexico hunting. I'm not a newbie to hunting but the terrain is different than North Dakota or Texas. I just retired a year ago after 25 years in the Military and New Mexico is where we call home now. If you have any good information on the eastern Gila 21A it would be greatly appreciated. My son and I bought leftover muzzleloader tags. Thanks in advance...

I hunted 21a for elk 5 years ago. The area we were in held some deer and we saw a few bucks...nothing big. We did shoot a couple of 6x6 bulls. Wish I could give you more info.

Thanks...where we were at scouting there was sign everywhere. I was hoping for some wisdom for the area. I think we will do ok. My son will be shooting for the second time. We moved all over so I am finally getting to share the outdoors with him. We are not looking for huge. Mainly meat in the freezer and enjoy the great outdoors. We saw five mulies last time we went and tons of sign.
