Region G Get Ready-Big Bucks or Bust

Leaving Friday morning for the second opener in region G. I've heard the bad report, but I'm not going to let that get me down. We've got a big crew going, and were going to have a great hunt! Big bucks or Bust!!!

Good luck to ya brownie. We hunted the first week and I saw very few deer and only two shooters. A buddy is heading out thursday with his group to hunt the last week. Interested to see how many deer and people they find.

Supposed to be some storms the beginning of next week. IDK that it'll dump much snow, but the rain will still cool things off--and make it muddy...

LAST EDITED ON Sep-28-11 AT 12:56PM (MST)[p]First time I've hunted G. We had a good hunt and I smacked a nice buck. Seemed to be plenty of bucks where we were hunting. Passed up a 30" fairly heavy 3 pt. Best part was we only saw a couple other hunters...

Going to be bust. I have been scouting the part that opens up on the 1st almost everyday since june and have coverd a ton of country. I Could not even turn up a buck over 170, from what I have seen there is no point for me to even buy a tag this year. But good luck

Lets have some pics of your buck triple_bb. Sounds like you guys saw better numbers than we did. What unit is just opening up? I thought all of G was open from the 15th to the 7th.

No, unit 135 opens October 1st. Used to run to about the 10th, now its open to about the 14th. Hunted it last year but didnt see many deer in that unit and no big ones.
