Idaho 197 2/8ths non typical public land DIY buck

My roommate shot this buck this year after hunting hard and scouting all preseason. The buck he scouted all preseason was actually harvested by a friend of ours out of coincidence. The buck he wanted scored 175 typical but he kept at it and shot a nicer buck with some character, what do you think??

looks like it worked out for the best, unless the 175 deer is 36" wide or somthing I think he did good.

Wow that a really good buck, the extra's are really cool.I can see why he was taken. Will look awesome on the wall.

Would you care to tell us what unit this deer was taken in, or if not, what general area or if it was a controlled hunt? I'm wondering because the genetics of that deer remind me a lot of some of the deer I have seen in some of the better parts of the Frank.
