LAST EDITED ON Oct-13-11 AT 05:16PM (MST)[p]I think I like hunting muleys more than just about anything else. I put a ton of time in to kill this guy. Got lucky and stuck him at 56 yards. The season had been open for over a month before I was able to get a kill shot on him, sneekee little bastard. I dubbed him 'Way cool junior' due to the company he kept, nothing but 3 little forkies with him all year.

He is just 1/8" shy of 33" wide and scores 197 6/8". One of the most physically demanding and mentally challenging hunts I have ever been on.

Here are some velvet shots:

Good luck to everyone

One of the prettier Bucks shot this year IMO, Gorgeous, and always nice having the live shots prior... Well done!!!

Damn dude, you are getting to be a hell of a buck killer with that bow! Congrats on another stud!

There must be some physically demanding country the other direction, because that way looks pretty flat; although areas like that aren't always as flat as they look. Sweet buck, I am sure the demands were worth it.

Great buck! You earned this guy. Good job!

Every hunting season you miss is one you can not make up

Great buck. I guess there are still a few left in Oregon because you' ve smoked a couple studs with a bow the past few years. Perhaps the extra effort helps!!

Sean,

He's goin on my wall, with that cape. But I would be happy to loan you a nice cape off a doe that I saw just off the road.

Fly4fish,

It is wide open country, virtually no big hills, as you can see, but what really is hard to see is that all that country is nothing but rock. Every step is a knee twisting, ankle breaking SOB. nothing flat. You might only cover 5 miles in a morning but very tiring on the body hiking that for miles at a time. At least I was tired.

Htnfool, any chance you could share the details of your story for us? I'd love to hear how that hunt panned out. What you must of went through to get in on this buck undetected out in that open country.

Beautiful buck, congrats!

Awesome buck....

Government doesn't fix anything and has spent trillions proving it!!!
Let's face it...After Monday and Tuesday, even the calender says WTF!

Wow nice buck, To get close to a deer in that country you have to be part ninja, Please post up the story would love to read it.

I can say that is the most impressive buck I have seen on this site this year. There may be better scoring deers, but to take him in that country with archery tackle hard horned and unbroken is quite a feat. Congratulations!

Congrat's on a great buck. Hopefully through the winter if you get time you can give us the blow by blow of the entire years hunting experience to get up close and personal with that "sneekie little bastard" :) Sounds like you did your homework on him with a kill shot BUT I bet there is a story out there when the buck must have won a few rounds especially in that open country. :)

Beautiful Buck and wall hanger. A true TROPHY

Your buck is what dreams are made of. High, wide ,heavy and trash.....WOW!!!

Thats a awesome deer! Funnything is I shot one almost identical to that last year, down to the stickers, score, even the pics are similar!
Congrats!
