I got a picture text of a toad of a buck taken by a youth not far from my house. I'm pretty sure its the same buck I scored the sheds off last year. It was 210+ last year. Can't remember for sure. But it grew quite a bit this summer! Glad the neighbor kid was able to get him. Be a hard one to ever top again. I'll try to post pics later tonight when I can get to computer. Still can't figure how to post pics from the Droid phone yet?

Unit 70? Right here in town.......well done to the hunter!

Within the shadows, go quietly.

I was sent scouting pictures of an identical buck. Let's have the original OP post some field photos. Im 99.9% sure its the same deer. Im guessing that's why no field photos were posted.

This buck was taken on their own private property. This family are good people and have been excellent hunters I'm glad their young son was able to to take this buck and not some drive by or hit by a car moving to winter grounds
. I only have one more photo of him holding it caped out

I just held this rack. This buck is incredible. Pics don't even come close. The main four point frame is unreal. My guess would be a 200-210 frame with 30-35 inches of extras. What a toad. This Is a buck of a lifetime

I know of quiet a few people that were watching this buck on Private Ground waiting and hoping he would move or be pushed onto public ground. If its any consolation, im glad the land owners got the buck instead of it being poached or the other folks getting him. It just irks me when there is a dandy on private ground and some ahole trespass and poach it. Who's doing the taxi work? Id send it to the best. Once in a lifetime buck there.

I'm glad they let a kid shoot the easy buck. Private land bucks should be left for kids and senior citizens. That way everyone can enjoy shooting a deer without having to work for it.

I don't know why the sarcasm directed at me. So you have a problem with the land owners getting the buck instead of someone trespassing or poaching it?
I don't get your problem with it.

So on one side of the fence he is a hard earned, DIY hard core tuff ass buck to kill, and on the other side he is a nice easy little back the truck up and load buck? You are probably one of the slugs that had been waiting for him to hop the fence so you could sell your story to some huntin' rag and tell us how awesome the hunt was.

Drhornhunter sent me: Emailed ya couple pics of this buck. You can post em on if ya want.

Man, I really don't get some of the people on this site. This kid shot a great buck on private property and instead of giving him a pat on the back, people are starting to be-little his achievement? I will tell you that if I had a buck of this caliber on my land, I wouldn't even hesitate on dropping the hammer and neither would these people with the negative comments. Grow up people and thank God that all of us can hunt like we can. Encourage each other. That is a future generation of sportsmen standing with that awesome buck right there and I guarantee every one of us would have done the same thing in his shoes. Great job on a fantastic buck!!

Maybe a rich anti hunter should buy loads of land in Idaho and not allow any hunting to protect the deer from hunters who purchase a state game license. Bet everyone would complain then.

Maybe? Its already happened. But that still give you nor anyone the right to harvest deer on property not of your own without permission.

First of all, congrats to the kid...awesome buck!

Second, what's the deal IDShooter, that big buck break off one of his points in your a#@ or something?!? Why do you have such a problem with a kid shooting a buck off of property that his family rightfully owns?

I guess the government should just own all the land. Heck, while we're at it why don't they just tag each and every deer, so that way they can assign a deer to each hunter and no one has to fight or "work" for a buck...

I don't think I would leave a rack like that in a glass front store. I don't care if I would have won the contest and got a shotgun or whatever.

He's a nice deer but he isnt 230-245 no way. Id say he is about 195" with about 15-20" of trash. Right in the neighborhood of 210-215"... great deer.

WOW!! What a STUD of a buck, congratulations to the young hunter. I'll tell you what, at that age I woulda been lucky to have got a shot off while pissing my pants! Good for this kid and hopefully he's hooked for life (although gonna be hard to top this one).

IDShooter, you're a complete AHole. You have no idea how this buck was harvested other than the fact it was on family property. A buck this big doesnt get to that size being stupid, give the kid some credit for a well deserved trophy. You're a class A jealous toolbox IMO.

Personally I'm happy for the young guy, job well done son. And thanks for DRHORNHUNTER for posting the pics for all to enjoy!

Great buck period ! Doesn't matter where it was shot. I agree with Darktimber. Lets not forget that the future of our sport and our ability to bear arms depends on the youth. We want all of them to vote to keep our freedoms in the future. Anytime we can develop future hunters lets do it positively.

WOW! Great buck there! And theres more then 15-20 inches of trash on that buck.

I don't care what it scores, or where it was shot, it is a hell of a deer! And for the kid that killed it, good job young man! I hope you cherish that buck and the memory of the hunt for the rest of your life. And if you would happen to read this remember that success breeds jealousy. So don't let the naysayers effect your feelings towards your accomplishment.

Me thinks that with a few more stupid posts on these Forums like IDS695 has put up on this thread that he will quickly move to top ahole on the site, LOL! What a jerk!!!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-02-11 AT 08:50AM (MST)[p]Horn Star is bored again on the rez..... lol Nothing like a score thread for you to come banging your chest! :) Keep proving my 90 percent theory correct! I bet he has close to 20 inches of extras just on the one side!

Oh and a smoker buck! Congrats to the kid.

"he will quickly move to top ahole on the site, LOL! What a jerk!!! "

I don't know about that, there's some stiff competition around these parts. He'd probably score poorly during the swimsuit and talent portions of the competition.

Great buck WOW!

Government doesn't fix anything and has spent trillions proving it!!!
Let's face it...After Monday and Tuesday, even the calender says WTF!

Hey guys, I'm not a ahole. I'm glad the kid got the buck. My hat goes off to him. What I was referring to was the guy who called everyone waiting to see if it came off the property to shoot it a dippsh*t. That deer belonged to all license buying hunters. Yes, I am against private property hunting. Thats my opinion. Whats wrong with a hunter hoping he may too have a chance at a big buck like that not just some rich landowner. You will all see in the future only private land hunting and draw hunting are going to be the way.
Thats too bad for the average person who loves to hunt, like me, have to either pay money to hunt on private property or get extremely lucky and draw a tag(which in my opinion money has something to do with). All I post here is the opinion of trying to keep hunting the way it should be, that all license paying hunters have equal opportunity. Landowners should have to pay back all license buyers for every deer they shoot on their land if they do not allow hunting to everyone. After all all our monies for license and a percentage of the sporting goods we pay for are used for management of all the deer.Just my 2 cent if you dont agree post your opinion in a intelligent manner. Too much ignorant name calling and ignorant statements already take up too much space in these hunting forums.

Fantastic buck......Congratulations to the young man!!! Helluva great deer.

Great buck! Wonder if he'll ever top that buck?!!!

IDSHooter,

What if it were you that owned the land? Would you honestly allow every public hunter on your property? I wouldn't. I would keep it for family and close friends and try to provide a better opportunity than what public ground offers. I don't own land, I don't have much for connections on private land, but I'm proud to live in a country where a person has the right to make money and buy/inherit and manage their own land. Especially when the private land is maintained as ag land or critical deer winter range land, and isn't sold for more development. The best managed mule deer habitat I see is most often on private ground (why do you think there are big bucks on private land to begin with?).

Your idea of all license holders entitled to equal opportunity sounds a lot like why our country is in trouble today. Blame the rich guy. I feel bad for a guy that looks upon some of the better stewards of the land as "just some rich landowners".

...All this entitlement because you bought yourself a buck tag.

Your one to talk, your tired of name calling and ignorant statments? You just called someone a dipsh!t in the post above. Perhaps you should stop posting, that way you dont have to read ignorant statements. Just a thought.
perhaps you should go buy some land with deer on it so I can shoot them. At least thats what you said should happen.

I know the family and they aren't "rich" landowners like some might think. They work the land and just happen to have a great buck take up residence on it. I know in yers past they haven't even seen as much as a two point on the property durring the season. So to those of you who think that this buck is the by-product of some weathy landowner that has teh property for his own deer sanctuary you are dead wrong. Just my 2 cents, and way to go kid. thats a hog of a buck.

He who pays the license fee should hunt wherever he has permission. I hunt alot of private and public land. I also own 2000 acres of Missouri River Breaks in Montana that I along with my family hunt. Our ranch is not a high fence operation and the deer are just as wild on our side of the fence as they are on the public land across the fence. We are stewards of the land and love seeing the deer on our place. We deserve to hunt our land.

I'm hungry.I think I'll go over to IDshooter695's house and use his kitchen to cook up some grub.I should be able to do that, right??After all, shouldn't everyone let anyone that wants to use their stuff??It's not fair that his kitchen has all the good stuff and mine doesn't!!

IDshooter...Got any Ribeye's??

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

Well said timberline, most land owners that I know are not rich. They work their land, land that they have had for generations. It is how they make their living. Some years there are magnificent trophies, some there is just a herd of spikes and forks. My good friend who has a ranch will take a buck off of his place most every year (and he pays for the tag just like everyone else and btw where I live, he can't shoot anything outside of his property if he has the landowner tag, so if the monster trophy is on the other side of the fence, he can't take it) but he doesn't care about the score, he doesn't care if it is a trophy, he is truly interested in the sustainability of the herd. He has alot more invested in the herd being healthy than anyone else, his family (grandpa, dad, mom) and he have killed some great bucks, some small bucks and some years (like this last year) he won't take anything because the herds are struggling. Landowners can be some of the best respecters of the land that I know of because they are actually invested in it.
