San Juan Elk Ridge Deer..and some huns

My brother Shane drew a San Juan deer tag this year. Tough hunt and rugged country. Found this guy and put a sweet stalk on him with my 2 nephews right there with us. Took our time and got to 75 yards. With 2 well placed shots this big bodied beast was done.

He is a 5x5 and is 24 wide with great mass and sweet bladed eye guards.

After that we had some time to chase some huns. Great weather, beautiful dog work from Kimber and nothing beats hunting with family.

Looks like a good time had!!! I like that bucks character and mass. Sweet buck!! Good job on the birds to. Had my Vizla out chasing Blues yesterday. Got one. It was a blizzard!

PaleHorse...that was not back at camp. Those pictures were taken at the kill site. We were out for a little hike not expecting to see much and came across this buck. My nephews kept saying " i cant believe we are still in pajamas!" It was a fun hunt.
