4 Good Ones

LAST EDITED ON Nov-01-11 AT 04:38PM (MST)[p]Here ya go, Velvety! Here are 4 good Bookcliffs bucks. I spent 8 days out in the Bookcliffs and had one of THE best times on a hunt EVER. Even though it was like the Interstate out there- wheelers up on every ridge and down in every wash and 12 people for every one tag- a hunt is what you make it and it depends a whole lot on the people you hunt with. I was hanging with some FUN people and we had a great time. And we saw and chased some nice bucks- that always helps!

My mother was lucky enough to draw a tag this year and my cousin's wife had one as well. My mom passed this buck up on the first day but didn't hesitate after nearly a week of hunting when he showed himself a 2nd time. He's a 6x4, 28 inches wide- he's got some cool kicker/cheater points. It's her best buck ever. We'll post the whole story later.

Here's a big boy! This is one of Droptine Guides' bucks. Ryan O'Dell was the shooter on this one. I think he scores in the 190's.

Bret Nielsen- Droptine Guides- this guy KNOWS the Bookcliffs. Nice work, Bret!

Here's a nice 3 point...one of MANY in the Bookcliffs. The guy who shot this one said this was one of the best he'd seen. We saw a few bigger and heaver- but this one was pretty. This guy was really happy.

And one more- I have yet to get the story on this one but this one is nice. A kid from Vernal shot this one.

RE: 4 Good Ones

Thanks...wish they were MY bucks. Made me want a tag though. Guess I better save my pennies, huh?

Nice job there to Jenns Mother
Think I'll hunt with her next year if she passes on Bucks like this one and then she hides him for a shooter later in the week/hunt:D
Bet Roy was pacing the floor during this time not being able to be there

Hot Dog,Hot Damn,I love this Ameri-can

Yeah - I hated not being there for sure! I was planning on going but I ended up getting a damn job! Just my luck. (And if you want to know what was going on when my mom was actually getting this buck - check out the "Psychos" thread in the Campfire.)

HOOK 'EM!

Here are a couple that my brother-in-law and best friend shot this year. The first one is my brother-in-law's. A nice 24" 4 pt with 3" G1's and decent mass.

This is my buddies buck shot opening morning. 26" 4x5 with the tri-pod between the right G2 and G3. Nice buck with good mass, just nothing as far as G1's.
