LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-11 AT 09:12AM (MST)[p]LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-11 AT 08:16?AM (MST)

I am not very good at writing stories but I will give it a shot.

Let me start off by saying this year has been tough for us to get out and hunt, both boy's play football so our Saturday's are out for hunting, Sunday's only.

It stareted off with the muzz. hunt Sun. Oct. 2nd, we went out and had a three point and a two point at 80yds. I was getting a cap on and putting the bi-pod down when they got spooked and off they went.

On to Sun. Oct.23rd, we went with some of my closest freinds and their boy's, one of the boy's had killed a three year old two point opening day.We were able glass alot of deer this day, one being a buck a long way's out, we went after him but by the time we got in his bedroom we could not roust him up.

Now to Sun. Oct. 30th, we took my Dad with us this day, we started the day off glassing with not alot of deer being found. We were in my Dads and mine old elk hunting grounds from the 1980's so we went to our old camp and (reminised)? spelling the the good times we had their.

After about an hour at that camp we took an old road down to where my Dad killed a 5X4 raghorn in 1988 that was a huge bull back then. It was now 10:00 am getting warm and I think Kasey was thinking another year down without getting his first deer.
My Dad just said you would think we would aleast see some does, when we turned the corner and this buck was running across the hill at about 150yds. I got the gun out bi-pod down and Kasey sitting down behind the gun, I told him not to shoot until we got the buck to stop, my Dad got him to stop and the 270 WSM raing the buck dropped in his tracks.I started yelling you got him, when I turned around and looked at Kasey he was crying, I asked what was wrong he said I didn't think I would get a deer this year, I'm crying because it happened and I'm so excited.

This was a great time for me, to have my boy get his first deer and to have my Dad their in our old stomping grounds.

I hope the story wasn't to long.

Edit I will have to try latter for the pics. I am not the smartest with these computers.

Great Story, reminds me so much of my first deer with my dad...way to go for the little guy. You just created another future conservationist/hunter. He's hooked for life.

Through your words in your story, I can definately tell that hunting runs in your sons blood. He will remember this hunt forever. A great beginning to his hunting carreer. Thanks for sharing the story and pics. It brought back a lot of memories when I would go with my dad at a young age. I'm hooked for life because of it and I'm sure your son is too!

Congrat's to your family.. a great adventure with a happy little shooter. Tell him nice buck :) Those memories of the hunt will last a lifetime. Also tell him sometimes your lucky and get your buck and sometimes you don't get anything...Thats hunt'n ...its not always about killing something it's enjoying the experience and the outdoors with friends and family....getting your buck is just a bonus :)

Thanks for the story and the Pic's
