Does anyone know any details about what is going to happen with utah and the units? i am personally very excited to see what they do and am hoping like hell that they do a good job and we can have some good future management.

with the amount of people they got they couldnt manage 4 .how the hell they going to do 30.

Does anybody know if archery will still be state wide, or will it be broken up into draw units as well?

The article says the archery hunt will be broken up into 30 units as well.

I read on the DWR's website that these 30 units will have 9 days each for rifle and muzzleloader. Archery will be 28 days and will be confined to the unit chosen by the hunter. Tags are taking a drastic cut but was stated on the website that actual tag numbers will not be determined until May of 2012. My question is (and I couldn't find any information on the website about this) when are they planning on having the draw if they aren't even going to determine tag numbers for each unit until May of next year? We would normally know our results by that time. It's going to be interesting how that is going to happen.

They will decide tag numbers the 1st week of may, then have the draw shortly after that. If I remeber tight, last year they didnt get out the results til 1st week of May. Hope I still get an archery tag next year or my Rifle tag for the LE hunt I want to draw.

BTW: Cetral rack is Next thursday, Nov 10. Everyone needs to go. Hope to see you guys there.

I have a question about the Wasatch West Unit.

I could be wrong but a large amount of this unit has been off limits to rifle and muzzy hunters for deer and elk.

The way I read it is they will now allow all three weapons.

So I think people will look at this as a gold mine for killing a big buck with your muzz or rifle.

This will be an absolute slaughter if they don't recongnize this situation. They could ruin a fabulous opportunity unit for big bucks in one year.

Say 2500 Bowhunters hunt this unit now. The herd has been able to sustain this many bowhunters for alot of years. If they allow 500 rifle and muzzy hunters it will be chaos. This will be a nightmare. I would dare say that people are going to get shot.

The draw odds will be astronomical. And unless they want to shoot out the unit the tags will have to be cut severely.

I am looking at this correctly?

I hope they address this with some common sense. I will definately be bringing it up at the RAC's

As I understood it last year. This unit with the extended will still be archery ONLY because of all the skiiers and hikers and tree huggers. That area is not allowed to hunt deer and elk with a rifle. I hope that will remain the same, but I am going to the rack to make sure it stays that way. They better not screw this up.
