I Thought We had alot of Fires around here this year!

But We Don't even Compare to the Fires in KALI!

Stay Safe everybody!

And it would be nice if they'd keep their smoke to themselves! Or add something to make it worth while breathing all day....

Guess what! After Gov. "Moonbeam" Brown has told Trump and the federal government to go "f##k themselves" over many issues, Moonbeam is now asking Trump for Federal financial help on the fires.

How many times has Moonbeam bragged that CA. is the sixth largest economy in the world and CA. is over 8 billion dollars in the black.

Is Moonbeam lying about CA.'s economy, or is he still wanting to hoard those billions for his boondoggle bullet train from L.A. to San Francisco?

Even though I live in CA. It would not brother me if Trump told Moonbeam to go F##K himself and use the money for the bullet train to cover the fire damage.

Of course the Democrats in CA. and else where would scream to high heaven that Trump did not care about the citizens displaced by the fires. In reality it is our own Democrats in Sacramento that do not care about the citizens and are trying pass the responsibility on to the feds.

that pretty much sum it up.
Moonbeam Now wants to be friends with Trump.

We need more of those Huge planes that no-one wanted to pay for.

Got a buddy on a dozer out there on one of the front lines right now. Helluva mess from years of forest mismanagement. Damn shame.

+1. So much brush it has to be over 10 foot high , I have ash everywhere and like being in the fog . The Governor says climate change , hopefully there will be change this November!

I feel another tax hike coming. Never let a crisis go to waste.

You can't cut trees down in the National Forest, but you can burn 200,000 acres at a time.

The One Doper was even wearing a Fire Dept Shirt!:D

That's kinda funny. There was one in nevada bout a month ago that was pushing 500k acres and didn't hardly make the news.

Hey, elkassassin!

Those guys aren't Dopers. They're medical marijuana doctors and providers. Honorable men by Kali standards.

Nothing to gain politically by reporting a 500K acre fire in Nevada so the media isn't interested.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner. No political gain... The fire around grouse creek has to be getting close to 200k. And nothing, nobody cares. But dear God! If cali has a little smoke, we better all pay attention! Lol

In my opinion, most of these fires could be put out in 24 hours. It's pretty rare that one gets beyond you... But then theres the politics, and money....

over 6000 homes threatened, that makes news. That's how it gets news. There are 18 fires in California alone, and the ones that threaten residents are talked about, (except for the one that is near Yosemite, because its a park and all). I'm not sure what political gain can come from this, but please enlighten me if I missed something. California is a sinking ship and the rats are going down with it.

Ummmm... really?

"I Could" write something YET, I once Posted the Identical Prognosis.

Only My Bromance with Elk'y has me contained. "HE" Controls me :)

For others simply seek a Past Post Where-IN... I said... Everything in California; Flows EAST.

I say today on 8-8-2018, the same statement.

Nothing that Happens in Utah.... Flows WEST... Or have I missed the Winds.

I Sure LOVE OUR Plumbers + Diesel Self proclaimed "Good Guys" to escape a Speeding Citation... Just Cuz he has friends In... Places.

Eel, I know, YOU have not had a Fishing Licence in the last 75 Years. So why are you our catching Guppies... ?

Overton + 1911, Both of you commit many more crimes and never have confessed. Time is "NOW" to do so, down DEEP in this Thread.

Jagerdad :)

What political gain could come from the fires?

Don't vote Republican. They are global warming deniers and don't care if your house burns down due to global warming. See what Trump did? He doesn't care about you.

Wait and watch.

yeah really, just the Mendocino fire is threatening over 9000 structures. Statewide, I'm not sure. That's what happens when you have a large population base, smacked. Show me on you're pretty little map, outside of California, where there are towns threatened and evacuated do to the fires.

ummmmmm.....

I have a home in the Mendocino Complex mandatory evacuation zone.
Since the Tubbs Fire I have cut down 35 large trees and brushed out a defensible space around the home.
Now it's a waiting game.

Definsible space... That's the key. It sucks dealing with a dumba$$ that had weeds growing to the house cause they wanted "natural landscape " and then wondering "How could this happen!?"...

Thoughts and prayers to all dealing with the fires.

What you did is very good Overton. I only start fires at Shelter Cove though. :D

This is a must watch, IMO.

Eel, that guy spoke the truth. He lives about 30 miles from my home. Only problem is that his home town of Grass Valley has a lot of transplanted liberals from the San Francisco bay area and I bet he will get a lot of hate mail from those idiots for that video.

Did you live in a area that was under CAL Fire for fire protection and have to pay the $135.00 fee per year that was illegally passed by our liberal law makers for "FIRE PREVENTION" AND NOT "FIRE PROTECTION".

We had to pay that fee for 3-4 years, until the courts declared it a illegal tax, and during that time we never saw any effort put out by the state for "FIRE PREVENTION".
Makes you wonder where that money ended up in the state's general coffer.

You mean the dam that the spillway failed because the CA. state inspectors passed it by standing on top of the dam and never set foot on the spillway for a closer inspection.

After that information came out, it got hushed real quick and to this day the citizens do not know if those inspectors are still employed.

The Oroville dam is 35 miles from my home in the foothills to the West.

Good find eel. That guy words it properly... Would be nice if that mentality caught on. Cause what starts in cali seems to spread to the rest of the west. Some good and open minded but for the most part, the cali trends seem to be detrimental to the rest of us.

264mag is right, he was and still is the voice of reason when it comes to the Oroville Dam. His day job is flying Boeing 777's for one of the big airlines.

RELH, no we didn't get hit with the big fire insurance tax as we live closer to town.

The Ranch Fire is now only 2 1/2 miles south of my house. It jumped Eel?s river last night and is burning down the west side of the lake headed north.

That fire is near the area I have pig hunted several times while staying in Clearlake. The area hunted was steep mountain area about 20 miles North East of clearlake.

RELH

I took my daughters hunting near Ladoga this weekend, its amazing how many miles that fire has covered. Rumor has it, that they aren't expecting to get the fire out until September.

Zink was in California and told the special interest groups that this land belongs to the public and not them and and needs to be managed ?

I'm sure glad California discourages the use of wood burning stoves in the winter to cut back on the amount of CO2 emissions. We all need to be aware of global warming.

It's probably burned 250 million trees give or take 1 or 2 so far.
