I know this is on the muley forum but thought you guys would like to check out my buck from this year. I didn't draw a muley tag so had to chase the whitetails.

I was in a horse wreck on October 23rd broke my left arm, elbow and the bone under my eye. Some of you gave me some ideas about shooting with one hand and I would like to thank you for your great ideas. I bought a bipod and shot my 7mm just fine with the one hand.

I got my self sat up in some sweet clover that was on top of a big grassy ridge over looking a valley below me. It was pretty windy and I hadn't seen a deer and thought that I wouldn't see any thing. About 45 minutes before dark I spotted a doe making its way toward me at about 700 yds out. All of a sudden there was a buck with her. They bedded down in some tall grass and I began to stalk to them. I had to slide down a hill on my butt and then crawl one handed the last 100yds or so. I got set up on the buck and ranged him at 278 yds. He was bedded so it didn't provide for a good shot opportunity. After about 10 minutes the doe got up and fed to the left. The buck then walked to where the doe was standing then turned his back to me. A couple minutes later he turned broadside and I made a perfect shot and he went about 30 yds and was down. He is my best whitetail to date and is a 6x5 20" wide.

Impressive! Good job.

I don't think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.

awesome whitetail, only shot one muley in my life and all the rest whitetails and i will never go back to muleys. cant beat that whitey meat and the challenge of them. congrads

Very nice buck you should be proud... Were you hunting East or West river..I grew up in Haakon County killed some nice bucks along the Bad River and Cheneyne River area. Sure wish I was back there hunting.

I was hunting West river. I feel very lucky as our deer herds are low because of three tough winters and an EHD outbreak this year.

Great looking Buck, Can't beat hunting out in West River for deer. Love that country.

GREAT whitetail! I'll never complain about having to look at a buck like that regardless of the forum.
Congrats, thanks for sharing.
