LAST EDITED ON Nov-28-11 AT 08:50AM (MST)[p]were alot of bucks down low this year?

Not alot but everyday we were seeing new bucks and we werent even seeing the bucks that we would see the day before cause they were stilling moving down lower. At first we were seeing lots of bucks between 16"-24" and everyday we were seeing bigger bucks. We happened to run into a guy who lives close around the area and he said that he usually hunts with somebody every year in there and he said he couldnt believe that he hadnt seen any good bucks yet and he said that 2 days before we killed the buck. The day after we killed the buck that we got a phone call from that guy and he said he killed a 31" 4x4 and he said they killed it early morning time and also said there were alot of other bucks running around chasing the does. Everyday they were rutting more and more.

I was over there with two buddies who drew that rare tag, and both of my buddies killed very nice bucks. (4x4 & 4x5) I'm curious if the hunter who killed that 31" 4x4 had a small white S10 4x4 truck with a small camper shell on it. They also had a small with trailer with there quad inside when not used for cooking. We talked to a couple hunters there (several times)in the area we were hunting too, and we told them of a large 4x4 in the area we had been chasing after we tagged out. Was curious if this was the buck, and hunters we saw? Hoping one of them connected with the monster we were hunting for too. We also talked to a local (Nice guy) with a white Ford F-350 that had a lot of helpful info for us.

I believe that the guys who killed the 31" were in a rzr 4 seater. we were in the white ford bronco. Was the guy in the f350 name Howard?? I did see the guys in the s10 but i dont know if they ever did kill anything. What were you guys driving??

A buddy of mine got A really sweet 6x4 on some late muzzy season in California supposed to be a really rare tag. Will post a picture later from my pc

Hmmmm......? The only RZR 4 seater (It was camo too) we saw was from a group who tagged out opening Sunday with a small 4x4. He had to head home Sunday...? They were based in the North(ern) part of the unit. I don't remember seeing any other RZR, and we covered that unit from Top to Bottom & East to West? We were mostly in a dark blue Chevy 2500 crew cab, or my white F-150 Crew-Cab. We were based out of Fort Sage for the week. Howard sounds right?? But, to be honest I'm not 100% sure...? He was an older gentlemen, who was also an avid hunter. He had a Quad in the back of his truck every time we saw/talked to him. We shared pics with him of want we saw, and he did the same. Kind of a local Mule Deer Guru. I do remember seeing your white Bronco during that snow flurry on Sunday or Monday? If you get a pic of that 31" or know of someone with one, I would really like to see if its the one we were chasing around too. The two guys with a S10,(Sid and George) were great guys too, and hope there patience on passing some nice bucks payed off for them. The last we saw them was Wednesday the day both my buddies tagged out. And the rut was fairly strong. Every Buck we glassed had his nose in a Does rear, or chasing each other around Junipers that day.

We didn't hunt in the Fort Sage area, just camped there.
