Looks like you are shootin a Ruger 77. What cartridge? Were you excited when you first saw him? how about a little tale of the hunt?

Thanks Sage, It was a Win model 70 .270, using a 130 gr bullet. The guide spotted it at 700 yards bedded down , and we were able to sneak up to within 100 yards before I dropped him. I have hunted mule deer two previous times in Texas with no luck, and got lucky on my third hunt in NM. They are in as bad a drought as we are here in Texas and feel like I got a real good buck for my first one. 7 1/2 year old scoring 140". I way underestimated the amount of effort that goes into hunting these bucks also. It was a very rewarding hunt. Its very addicting, and cant wait til next year.
