Taking Conservation Tags from SFW

There is no reason SFW should get the majority of the Conservation tags. They use these tags to operate their business so if UWC wanted to compete with SFW they would need their share of conservation tags, therefore; SFW would need to share part of the pie because there are more groups coming to the table. I believe UWC should lobby to get part of the SFW tags because they don't have any ownership over these tags. Just saying I don't know how you can lose that argument. Then all hunters are represented equally If each group can use the money how they see fit.

UWC could also be incharge of the 200 Hunting Expo tags every other year because SFW doesn't have a contract that these tags can only be given to them.

There is no reason why SFW cannot make up for their lost revenue by doing other fundraising projects like other non-profit organizations do.

Well if sfw can't come threw with what they claim they can, might be time for another organization to step in. But I agree there are plenty of tags to spread around. Split them 50/50 and let's find out who the better org. Is.

I don't see a problem with having the Con Org tags being split equally amoung the other Con Org's in the state...

But SFW SFH UTFNAWS Full Curl BGF are all under the same umbrella..... I prolly missed a few other--same ownership--Con Orgs.

Sure Rotate the scam Expo tags each year to the other Con Org's in our state.......in a year or two we will have 20--30 new Con Orgs...all for wildlife and habitat---damn them predator's too.

Even Zim could start a Con Org in Utah...

Tags should be based on memberships. SFW has been claiming for years to have 10k but it's probably closer to 2k. The problem is there high rollers OR guide for them.

I wouldn't mind seeing that as well. However, there's not another organization that gets as much for their tags, with the exception of Wild Sheep Foundation, as SFW does. That's why they get the bulk of the tags. Again, it's the almighty dollar that speaks. I know that there have been organizations like Duck Unlimited that were given elk tags and they couldn't get enough money for them so they lost them.

Go's to every web site and SLAMs SFW for everything under the sun.........................................

They know what they been trying to do in ut for 20 years isnt working. I would be having me a real good hunting spot to fall back onto when $hit hits the fan also!

I have some independent commentary to add. Conservation tags are much different from expo tags. Each conservation tag is auctioned off for a handsome $ amount, and 90% of that is returned to wildlife. I have heard of organizations misusing these tags but its pretty limited. I think conservation tags raise a ton of money for Utah and have their place. I would not think less of UWC if they took some of those tags to raise money, but it's their choice and I admire them for staying neutral. Expo tags are different, there is no control over how much money gets put toward wildlife. These filthy-lucre tags ought to be returned to the public drawing.

BUT if I remember right the Expo tags were originally awarded to SFW to be able to entice people to come to a hunting expo and spend dollars in SLC and to give the average Joe hunter additional opportunities to draw tags. If I remember right this was back when SFW was everyone's hero with the ballot initiative issue and were using the $$$ the received for that. If the tags are pulled now because some of us don't like the way they're playing the game, I would think that it would be tough to replace the tourism dollars that come to Utah and the issue would be more than who is and isn't drawing tags. Just thinking out loud. See you at the Expo.

sounds fair to me! I don't see anything wrong with all organizations getting the same slice of pie. Or better yet lets get rid of the pie and make the division run the way they should. There is no reason they cant run this state like any other piece of private property. O wait no government agency seems to work under budget do they?
