I was pretty bummed when I read that they killed it. According to a witness' comment on the article it wasn't injured. The CO thought it would become too aggressive if tranquilized so he said there was no other option. So I'm thinking...why are they called tranquilizers if they just enrage the wildlife? Maybe time to try a different brand!

A shame that the DWR had to put down the buck. I wonder if an attempt was made at all to safely remove the buck from the home?

Yeah, I was pretty bummed to hear that they had to euthanize it. I hate to hear stories like that - - was hoping for a much better outcome.

The homeowners look like they got lucky though, I've seen deer absolutely tear houses up. A good friend of mine in Wisconsin had a doe jump through their kitchen window and it messed the house up pretty good.

Wish the DWR could've figured out a better way to remove that beautiful buck though.

yup, wish they could have taken him out without killin' him. probably couple factors led to the buck no being tranqed, but only guesses: the buck was extremely agitated with adrenalin levels through the roof and the close quarters with which to operate?, and the avaliability of tranq gun and qualified shooter. the amount of tranq to put the deer out may have been too much and would have killed him anyway. oh well, too bad for the deer and glad the family still had a good christmas.
