15 year old son's SD buck

This is my 15 year old son's best buck to date. We had hunted hard all day on the opener in spite of the fact that he had the flu. By the end of the day he was pretty run down and pretty sick so he decided to stay back and hunt about a mile from the truck while I took my other two boys farther in to try getting away from the pressure. About an hour before sunset I got a text from him that he had shot a nice buck. We hurried back to where he was hunting and found him waiting for us by this nice buck.

He had a great year harvesting his first antelope buck with a 185 yard shot with a muzzle loader in NM, harvesting a 38" ibex in NM, and getting to accompany me for a week on my backpack mountain goat hunt in CO.

When I was 15 it was my dream to shoot a big buck on my own. It took me on more year to finally do it.

What a memory and what a buck. My oldest son has always had the big buck luck. That first one of his was so big the two of us could hardly drag it. Better yet he shot it with the family 30-30 open sites. Your son must be quite a hunter.
