One eyed Jack has been pretty elusive for me, but I found him this morning and got some good shots. He has definately lost his right eye. He also had a good puncture wound in his rib area, but that has healed up.

He's a dandy Yellum!
I think sometimes an eye injury like that makes an animal even more cautious...and thus more difficult to find and harvest.
My son's book antelope had an eye injury and he liked to isolate himself away from the crowd, perhaps extending his life.
Great pics and thanks for sharing!

Yelum! I thought that was you today, I should have waved you down. We were right next to you in the later morning, in a white Ford Explorer. I got some video of old One-Eyed Jack too, but not much. He was only up for 10-20sec's at a time. Very elusive old buck.
We also saw a nice buck drop one side.

What a guy! A smaller buck must have gone right between that wide spred and poked him in the eye. He must not even go to winter range that is closed right now if you guys could still get good pictures like that!

We're not having much of a winter Topgun, and he isn't in a closed area. Probably gets scene by 20 people a day.

Drhunter, I sent you a PM.

I was sure you wouldn't be putting photos up if he was! I hope if he's that visible that somebody doesn't do the dirty deed and wack him some night. I wonder how much longer he'll keep his headgear. Glad to hear the winter is as easy there as it is all across the country, especially compared to last year. We have no snow here in lower Michigan and the 10 day forecast is for highs in the 30s and 40s with only one day having a 20% chance of any precipitation. That's quite a change when we got 17" in one storm a year ago yesterday!

Did he just lose that eye this year? The only reason I ask is because I have only ever seen one buck live another year after losing any eye. For whatever reason, it seems to be a fatal wound more times than not. Awesome buck...gots to respect the WOW he is packin'!

GZ, yes he got the wound in early Dec. I saw a buck in WY a few years ago that we called One Eyed Willie that survived at least 3 years with a blind eye. He winter killed as a 34 inch 4x4.

he looks pretty skinny, Hope he in a area that has some feed.
Good looking rack.
