i have been asking for deer advice for years here on MM looking for a good hunt in colorado. my points keep building and im ready to hunt. i am used to hunting my home state of idaho general season. i know and have reserched about the 07-08 winter kill. what kind of hunt i would really like is rifle ,whatever season.{chasing elk with bow in september} open country, plenty of public ground. a 190+ buck behind every tree. ok just kidding. i understand that most units/if not all, in colorado are better than what im used to hunting. i really like buck genetics of mass then width second. can someone point me in the direction of a unit or area where the genetics lean twards mass, somewhere that i could have a enjoyable hunt with my 8 long years of building points? i dont need to see allot of deer , but i do need to know that the hunt is worth 8 years of impatience. thanks for the help Larry

The fawn crop in 08 was low, due to the females aborting or absorbing the fetus. The better crops of fawns are still a couple years away from maturity. The winterkill units should be better in 2013.

Thanks for this post MD!

I'll be making the same post next year.
8 NR deer points.

I've been looking at 53, 54 or 55 3rd seasons.

Hoping deer numbers are recovering.

I'm planning my '13 Colorado deer hunt.
