Hey all,

Quick question for any of you who have hunted in te central OR area. I recently took a job in Prineville and am planning on bowhunting deer this fall. I know the south side of the highway (Ochoco) is a draw unit, so am looking to hunt in the Grizzly unit probably. Do any of you have any info on the amount of private land tied up in the unit other than what is listed in the regs? I guess I want to know how well stuff is posted, and is access pretty easy. Not looking to get any hot spots, just some general info on the area. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Moonlight,

Look in the Beulah unit. I have a friend that killed a nice 4x4 in that unit. Also I hunted antelope in the Malhuer River Unit 2 years ago and saw alot of nice bucks.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-02-07 AT 04:46PM (MST)[p]Mc Pheaters past the canal is OHV Henderson Flats, that whole area is invested with dirt bikes and quads. I know, I'm one of them. You would be lucky to find a deer up there in bow season. To the left of the canal is my buds ranch. If your in Prineville. Go out main st past both mills and follow mckay all the way up till you hit national forrest. Any where up there will be good. I saw 4 decent bucks on top of 27 this morning. There's alot of people up there, but the animals are there.
