Wolf sighting Diamond Fork

At the Central Region RAC meeting John Fairchild gave us info regarding a "possible" wolf sighting near the road going up Diamond Fork.
One of the DWR employees who is specifically working on determining if wolves are in the area was driving up the road to set up and do some wolf calling. As she drove up the road she saw a "wolf" right along side of the road. She stopped and watched the wolf as it wandered up through the brush.
She setup her wolf calling gear and the animal responded back with a howl.
She believes that it was a wolf-- but, again they want to genetically prove it was.
She believes that it was a wolf (not a hybrid) becasue it responded to her recorded wolf call.
I ask what would happen if someone shot the "wolf" believing it was a "Hybrid". They do want the "hybrids" killed. But he said if it proved genetically to be a true wolf (Yellowstone strain) the shooter would be in very deep trouble.
Interesting dilemna for hunters

If You Love Your Country,SHOW THEM TO ME!

It's been a long hard ride
Got a ways to go
But this is still the place
That we all call home

How will they know if and when and who shot/shoots the wolf unless they call it in themselves?

I for 1 would never talk about it if I shot it.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-27-12 AT 12:15PM (MST)[p]They're wanting a tissue sample from the beast to run a DNA test, but I'm thinking a whole core sample would be better just so there is no mistake!

If you're dumb enough to tell someone you think you shot a wolf, you deserve what they give you. We want your genetics out of the gene pool as well. S-S-S!!!!!! I've got news for you folks. There has been more than one sighting of wolves near Diamond Fork Canyon. The first one happened close to 3 years ago. Oh, but "we don't have any wolves in that area. It was probably a big coyote." Uh, yah. OK.

It's always an adventure!!!

Something sounds funny about this story. I'm guessing the wolf probably saw the truck and knew it was there. So then the driver turns on a wolf call and the wolf responded?

Will a wolf really respond to a call if it knows it is coming from a truck?

There were two hybred wolves that were killed in Diamond Fork a few years ago by a guy fishing who said that they attacked him. He said that there were three. The DNA showed they were hybreds. That being said the wolves that they are talking about in the papers east of Springville are in the Diamond Fork, Springville Crossing, Sheep Creek area. Mostly in Sheep Creek. There is also some in Strawberry area and that is not far. There is also two that are hanging in the Fifth Water area.

c86,
Do some guys respond to ugly women if they are lonely?

***Now that's a really funny one and I don't care who you are!
