Your hunting in a general tag area and are holding out for a big one when this weird unique buck steps out.
Do you shoot him because of the character of his rack or pass for another buck?
Best,

Utah, general season- I shoot him before he has time to blink...

That would be cool to have on the wall. Yes, I'd take him.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

That would be like killing the coolest deer on the Short Bus IMO

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

I would shoot. Mature buck, lots of meat for the freezer and cool rack, another great hunting story.

Pass on the Utah general season??? This is likly the only buck you will see! Broad side like that general season he gets one through the lungs.

He's mature and if I was bow hunting on a general tag, he'd be toast.

If I was rifle hunting... wait a minute, I wouldn't be :)

I would kill him in any state that offers general season tags on opening day.

take him, may never have another chance like that. even if a 190" typical was standing next to him i would still take him.

Love trashy unique bucks. Would shoot him even if I had a limited draw tag.

You pass on him and he crests the hill: Pow! Another hunter just got him! Now how do you feel? Going hunting in Colorado with a muzzleloading tag that took 3 points to get. He would be in danger if he stepped out in front of me.

He'd make a great meat buck for the last weekend if i couldn't find a monster. Otherwise, i'd be glad to let him walk or see someone else take him that was jazzed, maybe their best buck to date.

Back in the early 80's I was hunting in the East Humboldt's (area 10) Nevada and had a buck similar to this work his way up a canyon I was hunting. He had what looked like a large ball on the right side and was a very nice typical 4 points on the left. He ended up coming within 60 yards from where I was sitting and I almost shot him a dozen times but let him walk. I still think about him and question my decision to pass him. I have never seen another buck like that since.
