As I was driving home from work last night, I stopped to take a couple pics of these bucks - out my car window with my phone.
I see deer living in most towns in Wyoming. I have seen some deer in subdivisons in the foothills of Boise, Idaho and have seen a few critters in the town of Helena, Montana. I haven't been to Helena for 15 years and have heard it's crazy now. Growing up in East Idaho, there were never deer in town and I haven't seen other towns with a resident herd like most towns in Wyo.
Does anyone else out there have the same "problem" with deer living in town?
I know "Lazarus's" pics have been on here before, but he's worth looking at again. 3 or 4 years worth of decline. I took several years worth of pics and my buddy Patrick took the others. I think my years are correct, but don't hold me to it......
2006 when he lost a fight with a car and was hit..........
2007
2008
2009. His last year.
Here are a few pics of other members of the "town herd" I've taken the last few years.
I sent these pics of this buck in the cemetery to a buddy who sells caskets. He replied that they come in Realtree if I wanted to set up a blind! LOL
There are more deer than just BIG bucks, but I don't take their pics..... Just a few observations of our town herd: they shed way late in the year - some years not until early May. They tend to look 'rougher' than deer in the field. Apparently, Kentucky Bluegrass isn't as healthy as Wyoming Big Sage and Bitter Brush.
I know my buddies from Iowa, Illinois and South Dakota that have come out and whacked pronghorn the last few years think our town herd is the coolest thing they've seen. One even took pics of a little 4 pt. that had Christmas lights wrapped in his antlers. I can't seem to find that pic though.............
Just wondering if anyone else has to deal with their own 'town herd'?
