My 15 year old daughter drew a Paunsaugant management buck permit (3 points or less on one side). The hunt is the first week of November and I have no idea where to go on this unit as we live in Utah County. Does anyone know a good place or direction to point us in?

Stockhunter-

Glad 5X5elk showed a cool story and pics. His son harvested this deer the same place I let you know about a couple months back- In-fact I gave him the same advice when it was his sons hunt. I'm telling you the only people you will see down there if any are guides and that's because it is a somewhat overlooked area for some reason I dont know. It's right on the corridor of their migration into AZ.

Good Luck!!

Huntinguy,

I was with 5x5elk when my cousin took the buck in the story. I am the one who actually wrote the story. Didnt know it would make the magazine. It was a great hunt. I will tell you, I almost laughed when we pulled up to the place you advised. No way a deer could be there.. I laughed again when I had my foot in my mouth the whole time we were packing out that deer. Thanks again for the advise!! Without it, we most likely would have been skunked.
Stockhunter,
take his advise to heart. You will also probably laugh when you pull up, but dont be mistaken, his advise is as good as gold!!

Opening Day you guys smoked a nice mgmt buck for sure. Yeah that area is full of guzzlers and the deer flock to them all day long. It's at the bottom of the migration corridor as the bucks are on their way to the Buckspin Mtns so that the Arizona guys guys can smoke all our Utah deer.

Glad to be of help as it is an LE unit and not something guys are gonna have lots of personal experience with when it's their turn to hunt em.

My 15 yr old daughter Kristi was successful on her management tag. It took us a couple days to figure out the best way to hunt that area and she took this buck Saturday morning. I wanted to say thank you to all the great help through emails and phone calls. Taylor, Jared, Huntinguy, and others... you were all awesome and we really appreciate your assistance.

My 8 year old Zach had the time of his life riding 4 wheelers and looking for deer. Here is a picture that says it all. Thanks Big6, you are awesome!
