I've been several other places in the Basin & Winter Grounds are not looking good when it comes to Feed!

how many winter grazzing permits have been stoped. if thier is not enough feed for wildlife how can they still grazz livestock? what a rip off,,, call the blm 435 781 4400 the forest service duchsene, 435 738 2482 vernal 435 789 1181. tell them your concerns about this, it will make a differnce,,,

They are over reactive IMO. As long as the snow doesn't get to deep and the area isn't burned from fire the carry over from last years bumper feed crop is still there. Even though the nutrient value is stightly less there is still good nutrition to be had from the food. Humans can be dumb arses sometimes and over react. Issue the tags and you can count on the hunters harvesting game lowering the animal number. Don't issue the tags and see what mother nature dishes out and the elk have a fighting chance and if the going does get tough then you can alway issue tags at that point. Give the critters a chance. I heard the Colorado DOW make the same statement about the the same thing after they issue harvest objective numbers with the drought this summer and now with the monsoon rains we are seeing areas green up some bringing new vegitation to the range. Now the DOW is glad they didn't increase tag numbers...

Id rather see a few elk thinned out then have those land carp competing any more with the deer heard on life support.

One thing that helped kill the deer heard as quick as it did was the 10 year drout cycle we went through when carring high population of deer.

I also think they need to cut range permits.

Why not put some feed out for them if its that low? Dont they do that for the elk up north?

Have you bought hay latley? The cost of that crap with the rest of the country in a drout has gone through the roof!

Feed the elk, pay the land owners for dammages, not big enough elk so restrict the tags, Dwr employee's are like teacher unions giving themselves raises every year with great benifits and retirement packages. This all costs loads of money. who is going to pay for it.

Maybe we can use theto same money tree obama uses.
