I'm really proud of my son Braden. He decided at the first of the year that he wanted a new bow. He saved up his money and bought a PSE Stinger. He shot it every day all summer. Then this past weekend he made a perfect heart shot on his first archery deer.

This pic is a little graphic............but I thought I'd show just how good the shot was. 100 grain muzzy to the heart

Congrats. Well done. I know some that are still lookin for there first and they've been bow hunting for years. Awesome accomPlishment for him and in being a dad myself I bet u couldn't be more happier.

Your absolutely right ripnflip.... Im very proud. Braden and his older brother have been bowhunting with me since they were old enough to walk, so to watch him do the things that Ive taught him and have it all work was a pretty cool thing.

Sounds to me like Braden isn't the only one that deserves a congrats. Sounds to me like Dad is teaching his son something many parents aren't teaching their kids. How to work hard and save and earn what they have. Sound like Braden has a darn good dad.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-04-12 AT 06:17AM (MST)[p]Thanks eveyone for the nice comments. We've been gone hunting all weekend so it was cool to get on and see what everyone had to say. (It's too bad I don't shoot as good as Braden or I'd have an elk pic to share)......good luck to everyone the rest of the year.

That is awesome! I did the same thing when I was a kid, saved up my money, and bought my first compound bow when I was 14. Killed my first buck with it when I was 15. That was a LONG time ago, and I still remember it like it was yesterday!

Your Son will never forget this experience! Congrats to both of you!

Best of Luck,
Jeff

The voices in my head may not be real, but they have
some good ideas!

Way to go, Braden. I'm the proud uncle of this guy, and I couldn't be happier for him. The heart shot doesn't surprise me (Braden is as deadly as they come with his bow). I can't wait from him to draw a LE tag like his brother did last year (sweet tripod buck from the Book Cliffs last year). Braden is also an exceptional student and one heck of a ball player. Can't wait for the future trips with him and his family. Congrats again, Bray.
