I drew a 3rd season buck tag for unit 40. I know a few spots, ism wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the areas around the Colorado river? Or anyone willing to share any other places of interest? I am pretty new to mm and have read enough posts to see you have to put your time in here and build relationships etc. I work a ton and have very little free time. Only surfin i get to do is on my phone. Gotta feed the family...,and it ain't getting no easier is it! I will be huntin with my little one. He is still unable to hunt but plenty old enough to go with the old man. Any pointers would be great help. I am not lookin for gps spots or your honey hole , or a 210 buck. Just a little general info that may make my son and I have a good expiernce in the field this fall.

Hey man- I wish I knew specifically about your unit 40 in CO... But what I do know is that Utah has a Limited Entry hunt along the border with unit 40- its our Dolores Triangle hunt. This hunt is special because they put it in Nov so that the snow in unit 40 will hopefully fall and push the deer over to the Utah side. A guy on MM last year had the tag and psoted pics of a 24", heavy, 177" deer he took on that hunt. I searched the archives and found his thread, but the pics don't save to the archives I guess...

Anyway, it seems like it would be a good tag to have since one of Utah's Limited Entry hunts depends on those deer moving across the border... Hope you can get it done and share it with us... Good luck to ya..!!

Browningrage,
That is for sure the area I will be and have been in the past. Just was not focused on deer. It is a tough season to scout for ,migration and weather will be huge factors. Again just lookin for back up areas and a couple of places that may be new for me to check out. Kind of curious about the colo river area, and if it's even worth spending any of the little bit of scouting time I may get.
Thanks a bunch for your input!
